SHTF plans for your area?

Lets say the lights go out and don't come back on. Pretty safe to assume the urban centers are going to go full zombie apocalypse in their cities until they run out of food and stuff to loot. Then they move into the burbs.
I was thinking about that up here in the Shreveport Bossier area and it occurred to me that if Bossier Sheriff's Department closed the bridges across Red RIver, Shreveport couldn't bother us and would have to keep that crap over there in Caddo. And that got me thinking.
Do ya figure the Sheriff has thought about that? Are there contingency plans for this kind of thing? If there is, shouldn't they make that public so the people can plan accordingly because talking to people about this it seems that the decision is either hold up and defend your home or pack up and go somewhere more defensible. If nobody is coming, you could just stay home.
It's just a thought experiment so don't freak out. What's the situation where you are? Can your neighborhood's baws hold or are they gonna bolt? Is your area actually defensible?

Zip.
We're sea/ice locked (no one can come in without boat or plane) plenty of natural resources, have our own grid, 60k people and 22 million acres of public land, and endless inner channels of water/fjords.
this place was built for the SHTF situation, and is the perfect place to ride it out.

There was a shooting on AR Teague just last night. That "crap" is already on the Bossier side.

There have speculative and very complex arguments re meltdown scenarios for years on this Forum. There are some Posters who are digging line of fire trenches to defend their security, as we type. Some say buy essentials, while some say buy lead, so one can just take the essentials of those who don't have lead. Go figure.
A lot has to do with one's Religious persuasion. Christians who believe we are on an inevitable "End Time" scenario, are moving to their Faith and realize that "all things happen for the good of them that love God". Those people will and should do their best to defend the security of their beloved against blatant evil, but in the big picture of eternal life...this one life is just a 'test' for us to know who we are and where we want to go. The Good Lord will handle the details.
Good luck or God speed, whichever fits your pov.

In a true SHTF scenario you use tannerite hidden in gas cans and other supplies you leave out in the open.
Then you wait and take whoever shows up stuff (car, supplies, etc.)

Go to Barksdale and see if they'll let you in.

I am going to hunker down and wait for our benevolent government overlords to come to my aid and protect me from the evil preppers that might be lurking around me...

Idk but I would advise all leftists to flock to the city for the government to give them supplies and to avoid "them hills" at all cost.

We will all live in an outdoor prison.

I’ve given a great deal of thought to this. I’m convinced the open seas will be the best place to ride out a zombie apocalypse. Next the swamps. Then the mountains. Stay away from big cities. Be prepared to do things you need to do in order to survive. Think like a special forces operator. Be prepared to act fast and with extreme prejudice. Plan ahead with survival supplies and guns and ammo. Water will be worth more than gold.

I would like to think so. The nearest city with 100k+ population is over 100 miles away. We own land with goods we could trade with neighbors. Power runs on propane, have a water well, couple fishing ponds, arable land, cattle, deer, and a whole bunch of other wildlife. Stocked up on ammo so I think we’d last longer than most. It’s definitely an interesting topic to think about.

build a capable/knowledgeable community where you live. If you're in a city you're probably NGMI. Bugging out can be a viable option but I feel like if the scenario your describe ever does happen we will fall back to feudal like systems where skills are traded like currency.
I don't think there will be an all of a sudden SHTF event but rather a slow spiral into lawlessness. I could be wrong. Each year as a civilization we produce less, are less educated, and more reliant on big bro gov.

Have a fully stocked cabin with a storm shelter in rural Wilcox county Alabama. I can fish and hunt to stay alive for a little while at least. Plenty of ammo.
