I see a lot of you saying "St George was never part of BR" but I can't find anything explaining this. What exactly do you mean by this statement???

This is no different than if a group of rural farmers outside of a city decided they could join together and form their own town within a county. It's not splitting hairs. Incorporated areas are a real thing. The right of citizens to form their own community is as old as civilization itself.

That’s not splitting hairs. Do you think every county in the country only has 1 city and that city makes up the entire county? This isn’t Jacksonville.

Splitting hairs? You are ignorant. BR is a city. It does not incorporate the entire parish of East Baton Rouge. Within EBR there is the City of Central, Zachary and Baker, all not part of BR. The rest of the parish is unincorporated. Some of it will still remain unincorporated because those sections were not interested in signing the petition when asked.

To your mindset, All of Louisiana is EBR Parish, because splitting hairs.

People who live on Grand Isle are really in Metairie because Jefferson Parish.

People in Kentwood are really in Hammond, because you know splitting hairs it is all Tangipahoa.

ok so when those St George Baws would give someone their mailing address what would it say? 1234 FancyPants St Unincorporated Portion of EBR Parish LA or Baton Rouge LA???

It's not splitting hairs if there are literal city boundary lines

Are you stupid?

Zachary is NOT Baton Rouge

Zachary is East Baton Roue PARISH

(same with Baker and Central)

The St George area is NOT Baton Rouge.

The St George area is East Baton Rouge PARISH

It's not in the city limits and the CITY doesn't provide services, the PARISH does. It has never been Baton Rouge CITY. Whether you're too stupid to understand or not, it's true.

Zip codes are all that matter for the USPS. The city name doesn't matter, it is just a courtesy to be helpful. You can put Shreveport, LA 70809 and it will be delivered to 70809 (BR).

Splitting hairs? There are signs for the Baton Rouge City corp limit. It’s outside of those signs/lines. Seems much more like an easy to understand definition than a hair-split.

No. He’s saying they could use BRLA, and they could use St George, LA. It wouldn’t matter.

Even better, if you know your zip+4, you almost don’t need your address at all.

I hope this is an act, otherwise you are one of the dumber people I've ever seen posting. Mailing address does not equal city boundaries.

My mail says Gonzales, LA. However, I am not living in the city of Gonzales. That is where my mail is routed through.

I live in an unincorporated area, generally considered Prairieville. If we wanted, Prairieville could incorporate and form our own city within the parish of Ascension.

Past tense before the new city was allowed to be incorporated after asking to be annexed, not annexed, then decided to incorporate on its own?
