whenever mine does that it means it's time to clean it really well.
I keep the Roomba really clean. How do you get into the docking station to clean out the tunnel that leads to the bag?

I use the spray nozzle attachment on my air compressor

I mean, if you don't actually want a clean living environment then I guess they are ok
I am in the market as well, we have a dog and super dark floors, dustmopping 4-5 times a day in the kitchen area gets old, old.

I've had a couple Neato Botvacs, work great pickin' up my Labrador's hair, on carpet & wood floors.

I have an old, basic Roomba. It is a good supplement to traditional cleaning, but being a "dumb" vac it gets lodged under furniture like a bitch.
our shark had a recessed on/off button on the side but there was this move it made by a corner in our house with a doorstop where it would wind up the spring and it would rebound into the little pocket and turn the robot off. i would come home every day to a dead robot sitting in the front room. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
i finally figured out what was going on when i was standing nearby when it did the little trick.
i ended up duct taping a hard piece of plastic over that opening to solve it but good grief.

Roborok S7 ultra max is one of the best purchases we have made.
We have the same one, its great. I wish I would have gotten the self emptying/water filling dock.

quote:After 2 dog shite disasters with cheaper Roombas, I got the Roomba J7+ that has a sensor and camera for detecting obstacles on the floor and avoiding them. In the app, it'll send you a picture of obstacles it encounters and avoids so you can decide to make that area a "no-go zone" like if it were computer wires or something like that. The sensor has saved me once already from a 3rd poop disaster.

Works great for dog hair and self empties the bin.

We have the roomba j7. You can program when you want it to run. Ours starts at 0300 and goes for 2-3 hours. It hasn’t been flawless, but it’s extremely helpful with the golden retriever and beagle hair.

Same for the Roborock S7 that's over 2-years old. It does a great job and it's a little taller than other vacs wrt to going under sofas. Creating the map at first was a problem, but it may have been operator error.
I'd definitely buy a Roborock as a replacement.

Pretty sure checking the obstacle photos is my wife's favorite thing to do now.
One day when I was bored at home I got it to take a picture of my arse. She didn't think it was funny when she came across the photo in the app.

Yeah she didn't even consider how much effort it took for me to do that for her.

We have had a Deebot for a few years and it’s one of the best purchases we ever made.

Another vote for Neato. Have owned 2 in the last 6-7 years. Picks up the majority of the dog hair and dirt. Gets the floor clean enough in between major cleans.
