Best to just confidently embrace it unless you're willing to dye your hair.

Add "Don't Die" to your five year plan.
Good luck

I’m not ready to be the silver fox. I’m not rich enough.

Steve Martin looked like he was 55 for like 30 straight years because of how quickly his hair went grey

How old are you? How old were your parents when theirs went gray? If you are much younger than they were, what has happened that is stressful recently?

39.
My mom went grey fairly young I think, but she colored her hair all the time.
My daughter had a reaction to a medicine that impacted her brain. Dealt with extreme issues from January to March before things calmed down. I also work a full time job, a side job for extra income, and attend night classes twice a week for a PhD. Stress has been rough. I sleep around 6 hours a night. frick…I guess I did this.

It's a fight you cannot win. Eventually, you will be OK with it. Hang in there.

I’ll never dye my hair.
But I also have just clipped my own bald head for about 15 years now

I’m 36, going grey wouldn’t bother me. Going bald, I’d have to rectify that

Overnight...
Canities subita, also called Marie Antoinette syndrome or Thomas More syndrome, is an alleged condition of hair turning white overnight due to stress or trauma.[1] The trivial names come from specific cases in history including that of Queen Marie Antoinette of France whose hair was noted as having turned stark white overnight after her capture following the ill-fated flight to Varennes during the French Revolution. An older case of Sir Thomas More's hair turning white the night before his beheading has also been recorded. Although a number of cases of rapid hair greying have been documented, the underlying patho-physiological changes have not been sufficiently studied.

Those are myths, it can't change color once its grown out of your head.
quote:
In humans, most gray hair is not related to stress. In fact, hair doesn't actually "turn" gray at all. Once a hair follicle produces hair, the color is set. If a single strand of hair starts out brown (or red or black or blond), it is never going to change its color (unless you color your hair). Your hair follicles produce less color as they age, so when hair goes through its natural cycle of dying and being regenerated, it's more likely to grow in as gray beginning after age 35. Genetics can play a role in when this starts.

I’m 58 so well past the age when it can start. If I grow facial hair it’s been grey for 10 years plus. On my head though I have a grey streak on the left side that has been there for probably 15 years. The rest still looks like it always has. Finally starting to get a few greys sprinkled in here and there.
My eyes are quite blue so I’m ready to just go grey. The ladies will love it.
