Where’s the system??? IDK what it’s going to take to change that next season but this team isn’t going anywhere with the glaring flaws in their current personnel.

Yep.
They have to get someone else who can create offense when they trade bi

What is not talked about enough is that our 3 point specialist is not good at hunting 3's. Trey took 5 3's today he was to worried about trying to put Chet on a poster.

Thats not all on Trey. Our offense doesn’t feature him at all.

Majority of them, Chet clearly fouled him.

Yeah your right we should find ways to get Trey more involved but still both Matt Ryan and Hawk find ways to get off 3's better than Trey

When is the last time those two even played?
Trey is facing the defenses best efforts in the playoffs to guard him. Those two played against regular season teams in November.

Different kind of players….Trey has never been one to create for himself off the dribble(except for driving to the rim)
I hope that’s something that changes going forward, but this team is desperately lacking a Point to set the table for our guys

This goes back to the point of the topic Trey is way to easy to guard most of the time he stays in one spot and he doesn't take many shots on the move. Like plays you can run for Hawk you can't run does play for Trey.

Hawk is a movement shooter. Its like comparing Klay to Steph- both shooters but completely different types. Trey is not movement but he never will be but he also brings a lot of other things to the table.
In all honesty, criticizing Trey for getting open is the least of the major problems this offense has.

True point guars don't really exist in the NBA today.
For a reason.

Its the reason I was screaming in the gameday thread to get Hawk into the game.
The last time Hawk played in a meaningful quarter was the Mil Bucks game. If you go look back at that game, Pat Connington rarely if EVER left him.
It allowed Trey who is the best C&S 3 player on the team, wide open looks. Especially when coupled with the fact that Zion was driving the ball 50% of the time to the paint, he then faced on Giannis and Lopez, instead of the entire Bucks lineup.
Its actually mind boggling at the systemic failure of this coaching staff to even know this and still go to Jose and Naji

Yeah, but this team lacks high level ball handling and creation. Getting physical with BI shut the offense down nearly every time all year and the Pels had no counter to it in the starting lineup. I think by the end of the year Zion had gotten to a place to maybe be that counter, but they need another high level backup that won’t get played off the court like Jose just did.

So you are implying that a CP3 backup type deal is ideal if the money worked right?

I’m not against that, but that’s a short term solution. Also, Jose got played off the floor because he was too short for the matchup. Maybe CP3 brings more offense, but I can’t imagine him fairing much better defensively.
As much as we “wanted” OKC over Denver, I wonder if it’s a worse matchup. You still lose to Denver, but it might not feel as frustrating because they probably wouldn’t have shut the offense down, they just would have out scored it and you would have felt like you got a few punches in at least. This has been a fairly one sided beat down.

See I think differently. I think this was a masterclass in telling the organization you are not that guy.
Now what they do next will determine if we are truly a poverty franchise or serious about making a deep playoff run.

I agree it should be a good kick in the face for the front office, but it has not been fun for the fans. I’m saying fans were wrong to want OKC over Denver. It would have been a more merciful end to the season.

To be frank, "the system" tore his hamstring against the Lakers. To me, that is the takeaway. Everyone - owner, front office, coaches, fans- there is no hedging anymore. For this franchise to have success, it has to be through Point Zion. I know it's risky with his health history, but that's the only path. Anyone not fully committed to making that "system" work needs to be jettisoned.
This series needs to be the death nail to any idea that BI is somehow or capable of being 1B or part-time 1A. His desired offensive style is outdated and too easily neutralized by good, physical perimeter defense, let alone elite. It doesn't work and when it does, it's not good enough. Everything moving forward has to be about maximizing Zions gravity and embracing him as the unquestioned face of the franchise.
