Why are lever action rifles so dang hard to find?

My favorite "go to" is an old Marlin .444 my late pappy in law gave me. I've been wanting to add to my lever offerings for but you simply can't find them anymore. I remember when pawn shops were full of them.
What changed?

Just my thoughts
Lever action rifles are a thing of beauty. They are classic as our history can dictate.
I will always remember a Remington 22 lever iron sights, squirrel hunting. Shooting as fast as I could work it at 14 years old. Missing almost all of the time
My dad bought me a Henry .22 and it's as smooth as silk. It's a gun of choice now for my wife and my 8 year old son.
The shite they're making now with lever rifles is terrible. The world changes and so is life.

Fair enough.
Off topic but I saw you posting in another thread about being at Dega last weekend. How are the "new" campgrounds? I haven't been in over 20 years but my oldest is wanting to go next year.
I figured f it, I may as well take the camper and make a weekend out of it.

You can find them but you probably need to know what you want and order it. Lever is not something that will move quickly so stores don’t want to keep them.
I’m wanting a Winchester .22 lever action. I just saw that Win has a new one called the Ranger. Around $400.
May need to find one.

Henry still makes good lever action rifles. I bought one about 3 yrs ago and I love it. Same goes for a friend and he has several.

Sportsman’s Warehouse and Academy sells them. If they don't have them at your local store, go online, pick out the one you want and get it shipped to your store.

Prices have sure skyrocketed.
My Marlin 1895ss was 368$ out the door in 1995. Could’ve have bought the Centennial for about 100$ more. Still kicking myself. Wish I would have bought a truckload.

You realize that was 30 yrs ago.
I could have bought truck loads of SKS for less that $100 each.
That’s what I’m kicking myself over.

I have several that I hunt with often. My favorite is probably the BLR 7mm08. I hunt with all of them though.

I have a Winchester model 88 in .308.
I like it because it feels more like a bolt rifle, but is great for a left hand or right hand shooter.
I also have one in .243 that I have never fired yet. I may do that tomorrow.

You outcho mind? I talked to the guys at Simmons about that question, they'd take five times as many if they could get them. They get their shipments in and they're gone in a day. People are building these Tactical Cowboy rigs. Abomination but whatever. Ain't my rifle.

I bought a Henry Big Boy .44 magnum a few months ago, I love it. I didn't need another one but I couldn't help myself and bought the Big Boy X .45 colt a couple weeks ago. They're not giving them away but they're great guns, imo.

I've had a 45/70 Henry for years. Smooth as silk, a seriously fun rifle to shoot.

Marlin was a part of Freedom Group that went bankrupt 4 years ago. Ruger bought Marlin. It took them 2 years to get it up and going again. They are making guns but aren’t in full production.
Smith and Wesson introduced some lever guns at shot show this year. They are going to have .44 magnums to start.
Lever guns making a strong comeback.
