Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, all the pop-punk/emo bands of the 00s owe a debt to The Pixies, Joy Division and/or Sonic Youth. shite, Olivia Rodrigo picked the Breeders as the opening act for her New York shows a couple of weeks ago.

Yea but think of Foreigner’s lasting influence on luminaries like .38 special and Loverboy.. they single-handedly created the washed up casino circuit.

I can hear a Foreigner song on the radio every day. To the best of my knowledge I have never heard The Pixies, Joy Division or Sonic Youth on the radio

You seem to think this is for the Pop Music Hall of Fame

Why not? More hits, more top albums.

They literally would not exist without Joy Division.
Kind of like how The Yardbirds were inducted before Led Zeppelin even though Zeppelin had more hits, more top albums.

Joy Division? Sorry, but no. They released two studio albums. Two.
Claiming "legacy" and "influence" is stretching credibility with such a small sample size.
And, like it or not, Curtis' suicide drew attention to them and the resulting New Order.

MC5 is going in this year and they released two studio albums. Two.
N.W.A only had two as well and they're in.
Hell, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Nirvana, and Buffalo Springfield only had three albums and they're in.

I’m not sure why folks are hating on DMB and Foreigner. Both have been hugely popular and selling millions of records for decades.
Should a couple of those indie college bands be inducted? Sure, but they’re definitely not top of list.
Little Feat, Thin Lizzy, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple and Smashing Pumpkins are glaring omissions for me personally.

But we recognize they have 3 albums. Their debut just happened to be live and their most commercially successful.
Also, how many years has it been since their last studio album was released? There’s still plenty of time for Joy Division.

I dont understand how they select the inductees.......
Peter Frampton and Foreigner should have been admitted fifteen or twenty twenty years ago.

I'd like to add Soundgarden to this list. Ridiculous these bands are not in yet. RnRHF is a damn joke.

Soundgarden aren’t in this stupid thing but Steve Miller and Foreigner are?!?
Ok, that’s it. I officially no longer give a frick about this dopey hall of fame.
