OB Board - in the process of potentially purchasing some rec land with a bunch of timber in East Texas (Polk, Liberty, San Jacinto, Hardin Area).

Does anyone have a reliable forester in that are that they recommend?

Going to do a timber cruise and them come up with a cutting plan and looking for someone reliable and trustworthy.

TIA.

How much land? Size of the tract is going to determine how interested a forester will be.

You might trying to call the state forestry department. They usually can give you a list of foresters in that area.

You can look up the Association of Consulting Foresters and search their list of members for folks in your area.

Be up front with them and “interview” several and find someone that is a good fit for you

Talk to a Texas A&M Agrilife extension forester. Should be an extension in the area.
