That’s pretty much standard security for The Speaker.

Why not?
Doing nothing would have stopped the Biden agenda. Johnson just bailed out a failing administration.

Why is everyone surprised by little Mike? he’s a pro-spending authoritarian law and order evangelical “conservative”, aka a neoconservative.
And this isn’t anything new.

Most of that can be used to describe Trump.
Obviously not the evangelical part. Doesn’t know the Bible books.

Yep. Republicans were bamboozled again.

I know we're not used to Speakers of the House being from our state, but, this amount of protection is rather normal for someone this high ranking.

Keebler elf Colbert scared of his own constituents.

For instance, there are enough votes for a discharge petition on the aid bills if Jeffries, et al want to press the issue. That would be even worse for Johnson and House Republicans.
And at some point (and no, I am not talking about R+40 districts in Alabama, Arkansas, etc.), people in the swing and suburban districts want the House to be functional and to govern. Compromise is not a bad word in those places---the same places Republicans need to win if they want to retain majorities, and the same places that Trump will need to win or do very well in to be elected a second time.
The GOP cannot always be the party of drama and obstinance.

I don’t know if it’s you guys or the Hamas supporters they are worried about but you need to cut it out. This man should be able to travel around his own state with less protection than he would need in Iraq.
The goverment should fear the people

Why do most politicians look like weak limp wristed cucks?

Try again.

He’s in more danger from unhinged far right MAGA lunatics than he is from Hamas. It’s not impossible that
a Putin operative may be assigned to administer a contact poison.(not likely, of course, but still) There are several nefarious actors who don’t
appreciate the fact that he acted responsibly.

Hamas had a rally at the Capitol a couple months ago.

How about explaining how he acted "responsibly".

Well that’s not the case amongst the conservatives I’ve come across. So whose experiences are more accurate? Are you for aid packages for Israel?

Why is he so worried?
In his mind he did the right thing.
He should be proud of his courage and integrity instead of hiding like he's guilty and ashamed.

Are you under the impression the Speaker of the House of Representatives just calls Uber to travel??
With all the crazies in this world, of course he gets a police escort.
