Zero Hedge
This allows the frozen Russian assets in bank to be seized, stolen, and used to give to whomever the Feds see fit (Ukraine).
It is as if the whole collective west has lost its mind completely. As if they are untouchable.
Unbelievable arrogance.
They do this as the US Debt is already an unmanagable amount.

Can't we just keep it?

Yup.
If they’ll do it to Russia, they’ll do it to us.

It hurts trade. It hurts the dollar.

why would china or anyone want to keep money in US denominated debt? make the US pays their bills in gold.

Great outcome, if US sanctioned Russia and ceased assets to cover UKraine tab that is a good thing, less money from US tax payers, seems like a great outcome

They are actively work to destroy the dollar. This is likely the last straw.

Nobody is going to want to buy our debt. Do you not understand the consequences of that?

This is the main issue. People see the U.S. and the dollar as a safe haven for their money. If it's demonstrated that our government can arbitrarily seize funds, that diminishes faith in our system. That capital will go elsewhere.

We have never done this until now.

Spot on. They tried that recently and nobody wanted to buy our bonds because, with our inflation, they will be worth less when they mature than they were when they were bought.
This is bad. Yet, we keep printing money and borrowing money and spending money and…

They are literally willing to destroy America for Ukraine they are either retarded or evil or both

Our so called safe environments for banking and investment is why people and countries around the world come here with their money. Holding money is one thing but seizing another governments money is a resounding FU in future investments

The Russians have taken everything from the western businesses that pulled out of Russia when the war started and given the property and whatever was left behind to Russians to reopen and operate the businesses under new names.
I don't recall a Poli Board protest about that.
