Democrats won't take him. They develop their candidates and make sure there is competent management of them. Every once in a while they get bad ones like Hillary who had way too much baggage and high negatives.

Republicans have had trouble fielding really good candidates. GWB became a good candidate because he had good competent and experienced people around him like Rove and Card as well as Dick Cheney who knew how to work the system. Organization wins elections, not message. Generally the more disciplined the candidate and campaign, the better the overall results. 2016 though was an outlier on this but then, Trump was running against someone with very high negatives with an arrogant streak.

Really? I guess you haven't visited Reddit Politics or Straight Dope or even listened to what some of the potential jurors called him last week. (Yes, the people making bad comments were dismissed out of hand.) This forum is as close as it gets to pro-Trump.

If Trump was so good for the uniparty, why are they working so hard to prevent him from being president again? Until you can provide a logical answer to this question, your arguments are irrelevant.

The majority of the "uniparty" Republicans backed Trump last year (Graham, McCarthy etc...) They all seek his endorsement and follow his lead (see Ukraine funding timeline). They aren't working to prevent him from becoming President.

Democrats in a stunning turn of events are actively trying to prevent Trump from winning. Shocking us all.

You don't know what he's doing right? Why would you let the people you hate determine who you support in the Republican party? I don't care what the people who hate Trump think about anything.

Trump thought he congratulated Menendez for beating a corruption charge LINK

Trump is not perfect, but he's one of the few politicians that actually loves this country and is the best America First candidate we have.

You have no idea if this is true. You just love him and see him through rose colored glasses.

bullshite. If it were never about Trump, y'all wouldn't mount such a fervent defense at any hint of criticism of the dude.

The fervent defense? You and your pathetic ilk is the cause of that fervent defense.

Going all in with a Navy sailor former poster days after the election and framing Trump as a Russian asset created that fervent defense you whine about now.

So, not only are you a little bitch woman. But you’re a whiny little bitch woman.

Trump is the ONLY one in a position to make the changes that need to be made.

Trump is not about pro-life vs pro-choice.
He is not about Ukraine vs Russia.
He is not even about securing the border.

ANY candidate can play games with those issues.

Trump is a once in a lifetime chance to bring our corrupt government down a few notches.

Think about it. Who did you vote for in the primary elections? Who chose those candidates to be on the ballot? Who funded those candidates so that they would have enough money to run a campaign?

You got a chance to cast a vote for a candidate that your party decided was worthy enough to be on the ballot. They don't choose people who want to expose the corrupt underbelly of DC. The choose people who are invested in the game.

Trump didn't ask the party for permission to run and they never thought he would be a threat. Until it was too late. They are doing their damndest to make sure he doesn't have another chance.

So yeah, it is about Trump, but more importantly, it is about the opportunity he represents, and that scares the corrupt establishment on both sides to death.

It's only about Trump because their is nobody else to do what he's doing. Nobody else who can get themselves on the ballot and say the things he's saying.

The RNC is going to eventually put in place steps to keep anybody who thinks about being the next Trump off the ballot.

It will take a guy like Elon Musk to do what Trump is doing and Musk ain't eligible, and probably not charismatic enough.

The Trump revolution is a continuation of the Tea Party. We don't want the government to be in complete control of our lives from cradle to grave..

There's no one else in politics who can feed the electorate what they want to hear and then go against that when they're elected?

You've attributed what Congress did to 'Trump only' actions, while also saddling him with 100% of the Covid spending which wasn't his doing.

You've been utterly dishonest.

Thanks. I can't disagree with much of what you said. Your opinion of him stepping in to do better. I disagree with it. ( I should say as his main motivation) But that's your opinion and a plausible one.
I referred to his interviews way back, when there was no inkling he'd ever run for office (but was a well-known NY businessman).
Guys like that know how to run an organization, and understand the dynamics involved. That can translate to a government. He completely conceded that the public life would be brutal in that interview, and said it is why most don't make the jump.
At some point, his aversion to public attacks no longer was enough to keep him out of politics. Whether it was naked ambition or not, he seems to have an idea on what to do, and it seemed to be effective.
