I don’t drive one, but this is some of the dumbest shite I’ve ever heard. Jeeps began their lives as military vehicles. How on earth do you view them as being gay?
i've been a Jeep YJ owner since I was a senior in high school in 1998. i no longer DD my YJ but i still have it and drive it some, and i love it. that said, i feel absolutely zero connection or sense of community with 95% of newer Jeep drivers (this is not universal, there are definitely a select few who are basically just the current version of the way Jeep guys always were).
it is a granfalloon of the highest order.

Jeeps are fun. Y’all just jealous you can’t take your roof off. And Jeep waiving to some lesbians on the road ain’t bad either.

I don't own a Jeep. Never have.
BUT, I remember when Jeeps used to be considered badass offroad manly vehicles. Hell, they were integral in warfare!
And back then they were driven by men.
No way in hell those crusty, tough as leather, fighting men would have thought to sneak up on another Jeep owner with a fricking rubber duck.
And then chicks started driving them.
Add this to the long list of stuff women have ruined by forcing their way in and then gaying it up.

another Serious question for Jeep owners.
Do they still require you to manually turn on the headlights?
Coming home last week on interstate, getting dark-ish, Pouring rain, low visibility, foggy, etc.
Not one but (2) Jeeps cruising down the road NO lights. A grey one was driven by a very young female going about 60 mph. Shocked she wasn't run over.
I drive and old Mazda and headlights are 100% manual but I can figure out when I need to cut 'em on.

I don't know how manly you can consider yourself if all it takes is for women to start driving a vehicle for you to then consider it a woman's vehicle. What are you "men" then left with? Women drive pickups too.

I never said it was a women's vehicle. I said this gay arse rubberduck thing was started by women and it's retarded.
Like your reading comprehension.

I mean it doesn't take a genius to look at the changes made from the YJ to the TJ and then from the TJ to the JK and all the modern versions and see that they started making them for women. Jeeps started getting popular with women, and they figured out that they could sell a frick ton of more Jeeps by making them more"woman friendly". I don't really blame them for that, but it's still just a simple fact. They're still badass off-road vehicles, just with a softer aesthetic.
The problem is that they took what was a bare bones off-road vehicle with a pretty low entry price, added a million creature comforts, tripled the price, and completely changed the dynamic of the entire Jeep driver culture.
Is what it is though. Progress and all that.

I think the update in 2018 gave them automatic headlights- you still have to turn the knob on the steering wheel in my 2017.
I love my Jeep- it's very old school. No screens, sensors, cameras, etc. Much less shite to break/go out. No mods/upgrades- I just wanted a convertible SUV.

Lol your 2017 is not old school

It's stupid. People "duck me" on a semi regular basis, and I generally try to give them back. I joined a Jeep group, and I've found it easier to just say I keep them at home and accept them then openly not accept. Not sure why, but the women get irritated.

TJ driver here, and I agree.

I have driven a jeep most of my life. My kids love then damn duck thing.
I honestly don't care for it. It makes my day if my kids are with me and they get the duck off the door handle. I honestly don't get ducked much thank goodness.
i had a 2013 that had power windows and locks and nothing else fancy. it got totaled a little over a year ago. I honestly love having the basics and not much electronic stuff.
My 2018 has everything. I admit the 18 and newer jeeps are nothing but a chicks car.

It's not about gay sex, idiot. The ducks let other jeep guys know that you're open to intense discussion on jeep products while standing naked in a circle and furiously jerking each off.
You wouldn't understand. It's a Jeep thing.

i'm kidding. hell, you can get hard doors and tops for jeeps from like the 60s. i have half doors on mine with the zipper tops, but they're usually only on there in the winter. i just go no doors for pretty much all of spring, summer, and fall.

Yeah I think most of the hate is for the JK/JL. The older jeeps like the CJ, YJ, TJ aren’t really chick vehicles.
I have a TJ too.
It’s not a daily driver - 12MPG sucks.
It’s not in the shop very much - only ~1 month last year (and that’s not including all the shite I fixed myself like fuel pump, intake manifold, spark plugs, tie rods, etc )
The duck thing is stupid - I feel like it’s more of a 4door/JK thing.
Death Wobble is a legit concern - but that’s not a Jeep thing, that’s a solid front axle thing. It happens on F250s, F350s, RAMs, etc.
it’s definitely slow. I at least have the AMC 4.0 and it’s one of the toughest engines you can get, but it takes a while to get to 75mph. I don’t know how the 2.5 4 cylinder people can drive on the interstate.
