If you roll in a jeep, sure.

In an actual collision, they are freakin stout. Or at least the older ones are.

I have a silver 2015 JKU, lifted, big tires/rims winch, BU camera, upgraded radio, seat covers, floor liner, etc for sale. 148k miles. $16k, but I'll make a good deal for other OT posters.

And they might as well be a completely different vehicle

Jeeps have been offered continuously since the 40's in a form that isn't drastically different from the original. Its evolved over time like any vehicle.

And the "at least the older ones are" comment was more just a throw in because I know the older ones are stout from personal experience, but I don't know whether the new generation is or not. it could be.

I know the new Broncos crumple like an empty beer can, though.

So do the new Jeeps.

The Bronco is better than the Jeep and, as an added bonus, dudes don't try to trade me a rubber duck for a BJ while I'm in the Bronco.

My only Jeep is similar to this one. I am the first civilian owner and it is used almost exclusively for shooting ducks.

Actually, I am still looking for a M105 recoilless rifle like the one it was originally supplied with. It seems that they removed it as a means of decommissioning the unit.

That explains a lot

Enjoy your vehicle, they are really sharp!

Just not very well made. Glad I got my deposit on a first edition back.

A jeep is a jeep is a jeep. Its so iconic and ingrained in society that we aren't even referring to it by its actual model name, its just a jeep. Like a coke is a coke, whether you get zero, regular, diet, etc.

How does the new Bronco look like an OJ Bronco? You show it to a young person and they probably wouldn't know the OJ Bronco was a Bronco unless they have watched something on OJ's trial The new one does look like the actually good old Bronco models, though.

Maybe. I don't think I would buy either.

Probably in this order for me, assuming you are actually correct about Jeeps being just as bad in crashes and given that I trust Chrysler far less than I do Ford (and I don't trust Ford at all).

Older Jeep > New Bronco > New Jeep
