Just got mine in. It is 47.
What does that actually mean?

You have some plaque and a moderate chance of heart attack. You need to make lifestyle changes. How fat are you?

Where did you base this from? Site your source.
From Temple University Health:

0 — no calcification

101 to 400 — moderate calcification
Over 400 — severe calcification

You should really talk to the doctor (hopefully) that ordered it. The interpretation has to be taken in context, the test is worthless without it. For instance, If you were 35 a positive test would make me concerned about your risk of heart disease in the future (possibly distant). If you’re 60, that number is much less concerning. That number certainly doesn’t mean you’re at moderate risk of a heart attack now.
Almost always the score doesn’t change what you should do. Optimizing blood pressure, insulin sensitivity, lipids, body composition, exercise, avoiding smoking remain the treatment, pretty much the basics of health. If you’re not doing one or more of those things it may be time to start.

His score is 47.
You took the above to mean he’s fat and needs a lifestyle change. Maybe ask some questions before throwing out medical advice.

I asked if he is fat. I didn't say he is fat. And if he doesn't make lifestyle changes that 47 will continue to get higher and higher as time goes on. Take a lap you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Good advice. Thank you.
60 is in the rear view mirror, FWIW.

Is calling him fat.
Also with a moderate calcium score it could be genetic which could influence medicine over lifestyle changes.
Maybe you’re just immature. I’m not saying you’re not educated on the subject. But I have a history with it so I indeed “know what I’m talking about.”

No. I was asking how fat is he? He can be not fat, moderate fat, fat, or obese fat. It was a question. He answered.
I literally posted what it says on every single medical site about calcium score. Higher the number then lifestyle changes need to be made or they will continue to rise. You will not lower a calcium score without some lifestyle changes.

Just got my results back 71. This is up from 49 just three years ago. Window maker is the worst, went from 22 to 38.
44 years old, I know changes are needed and a follow up with the Cardiologist. Didn’t expect the results to change that much in the short timeframe.
I’ve been doing the PPSA workouts 3x a week and walking 8-10k steps a day. I Plan to add some HITT workouts in the mix a few times a week.
Starting low carb diet today to drop 15lbs. What else should I be doing?

Optimizing your blood pressure (<130/80), insulin sensitivity (low triglycerides, low A1c < 5.5), , lipids (LDL <70-80), sleep, stress levels.
If you want to add cardio, add low intensity steady state cardio (bike, incline walking) not HITT. Time spent exercising/moving is much more important than intensity.

Thanks for the reply
My blood pressure, triglycerides, A1C have always been in normal range.
I’ve had high cholesterol my whole life. I’ve been on 10mg of Crestor for a few years. LDL 105 HDL 45 Total 170 triglyceride 115 A1C 5.4

Crestor has the best efficacy/safety ratio of all the statins. Would talk to your doctor about increasing dose with goal to get LDL <70.
A low carb diet often comes with an increase in saturated fat intake which can raise cholesterol. Not a reason not to do it if it helps you lose weight, just need to be aware that may happen.
A1c is ideal
Triglycerides could be better. Exercise/weight loss should get it better.

Ferritin has also been high the last two times 600+. Any advise on that?

3 things I recommend
1) 8 oz of 100% pomegranate juice a night
2) citrus bergamot- 2 caps day and night
3) Nattokinase - 3 caps day and night
The pomegranate juice can actually reverse the calcification.
The CB will help hdl
The Nattokinase will prevent stroke and lower risk of heart attack big time
Also raise statin dose to get ldl down

I’m already taking #3, have been for 4-5months after reading one of your post. Also taking CoQ10, D3/K2, and multi daily
I’ll plan to add the other two to my daily routine.
Also want to add daily or most days almonds, Alvarado, apples, berries, green leafy vegetables.

Evidence says otherwise: Randomized trial showing no benefit

Had the same thing. My doc suggested donating blood. I did it twice last year and my level came down to normal.
And I wish I had you calcium score. Mine was 2000 three years ago. Just had a stress test and it indicated some blockage. Had a angiogram and no blockage found. But I have a LV EF in the low end of the “normal” range. Seeing cardiologist Tuesday. Not sure if he puts me on meds. But I’ve already been physically active at least five days a week and losing weight - with a goal to lose another 15 lbs - which would have me at a weight lower than when I was in my mid 20’s.
Total Cholesterol 128,HDL58,LDL 56. I’ve never had high cholesterol but got on a statin after my calcium test three years ago.
