Wait a minute. The only thing the USOC did was, heaven forbid, remind Duplantis that he still had to go to the Olympic Trials and qualify every four years for the Games.

As Mondo has said, track and field athletes are higher up the food chain in Sweden than in the USA.
When was the last time you saw a pole vaulter on U.S. television promoting a product? Had he stayed and lived here, we might have seen him on a Wheaties box, but that's about it. Track & field athletes can be millionaires in Europe, but not so much in the USA.

His mom is Swedish, so Mondo has dual citizenship. He didn't renounce his US citizenship. I'm sure he still knows the words to the Star-Spangled Banner., for you Landry lovers out there.

Mondo is the GOAT LSU athlete and it’s not up for debate.

Converted to what we’re accustomed to, that’s roughly 20 feet, 4 inches. Looking at his hip clearance in the still shot, he may have 21 feet in his future, which is insane.

I don’t know why you’re rolling laughing. Name me one better athlete than him. And before you go to naming think about running the 100, long jumping 23’, feet, and everything else a track and field athlete does that no other sport does. I guarantee freaking to you he can dunk a basketball, just as good as anybody else. He’s tall, strong, fast and can jump.

Billy Cannon could shotput throw a javelin and run the hundred better than anyone else plus he was a damn good football player. They’re not too many athletes like him. Mondo is a special athlete.

That didn’t look like a world record vault, it looked like a practice jump.

It was his first outdoor meet of the season and everyone else was done by the time they got to this point. It kind of was a practice for him! That’s how dominant he is.

By the way, the person that wins the Decathalon at the world championships or Olympics is considered the world’s greatest athlete.

And he probably had 3-4 inches clear over the bar. He will beat that record this year once or twice more

No, he’ll beat it seven or eight times more. He gets a bonus every time he sets a record. That’s why he never sets the bar as high as he could clear. Instead, he’ll keep going up one or two centimeters at a time.

Sauces tell me he's paid $50k every time he sets a new world record per his contract.
