Why we building rockets instead of paper-folders?

You can not fold a piece of paper in half 42 times.
It’s like saying, if I could jump far enough, I could jump to the moon.

This paper is folded 42 times and does not reach the moon.
Yep. He left out the important part “in half.”
Here is the graph:

2^42 was already mentioned, but to finish out the math:
A standard sheet of paper is about 0.004" thick
The thickness doubles each time you fold it in half, which is where 2^42 comes in
2^42 * 0.004 = 17,592,186,044" / 12 = 1,466,015,503' / 5,280 = 277,654 miles
And the moon is 238,900 miles away on average

The math checks out. It'd actually go well past the moon. But who in the hell can fold a single sheet of paper 42 times? It starts getting really tough to do after the 7th fold.
I know this too because I just tried

The world record is 12 folds and it was done with a sheet of tissue paper nearly a mile long.
At some point the stack becomes thicker than the length of material you have left to fold.

There was a myth busters about this. Even with a sheet of paper the size of a football field, the most they could do was like 11 I think.

I know. I think it follows me around at night.

Would you eat the moon if it was made of BBQ spare ribs?

I bet money that I can fold a paper 42 times and it wouldn't even reach my dick...and I got a long dick.

My kid folds toilet paper 42 times when wiping her arse. It's hell on my septic system.
