The responses to this thread make it clear the Republican base is too stupid and civically illiterate for conservatism to even have a chance.

With @SpeakerJohnson's leadership House Republicans repealed $20B from Biden’s IRS that would’ve funded ramped up audits of taxpayers & shakedowns of small businesses. With a narrow majority, the House passed a pro-growth tax package that extends key Trump tax cuts. Real wins for taxpayers.
Cool... but frick Ukraine and Israel funding and funding any foreign wars we have no business participating in, with funds we do not have. I don't know how many times this shite needs to be said before the D.C. neocons understand a large part of the conservative GOP base is tired of that shite. We're done with the Dick Cheney/Bush neocon MIC war profiteers.

The Senate is controlled by the Democrats.
This is entirely due to Mitch McConnell and Ronna Romney. They could have supported Blake Masters in Arizona but they actually diverted funds to protect that hag Murkowski.

You don't say. I'm thinking you are giving the base waaaaaay too much credit.

bullshite. I dont care about stupid arse polls. The people that would be against the govt shutting down are people that will always vote blue. Instead of surrendering to the Dems on every issue because of this "shut down the govt" threat, for once the GOP should nut up and actually let the people decide if they actually hate it like we're told.

STFU nerd.

He would have done the same thing. They're all on the same side and it's NOT ours.

Yep. They just want a pound of flesh though.
Funny, Trump floats the idea of "forgivable loans" and he is still hip with them.

This is true. Don’t forget about Miss Lendsey inserting abortion.

When you know youre going to lose a close fight, and you can get concessions from the other guy, thats the road you take.
Y'all are not living in the reality that is US government. What yall want is impossible.

That's not what they do though.
What actually happens is that they actively seek losses so that they can say, "Well, we tried. You need to donate to and vote for us so we can get them next time."

What a joke. Not that I really believe you are a conservative, because you clearly are a far left groomer supporter playing the troll game...but what have "conservatives" conserved? Lost every institution, lost every social issue except for abortion...which Trump single handedly had to accomplish. We are literally implementing Modern Monetary Theory...with conservatives happily rubber stamping.
DC conservatives are losers. They will never win. If every congressional seat was filled by a GOPer they would still find a way to not revert any stupid leftist policy on the books.
There is no real "conservative vs progressive" policy debate. We are back to royalty vs peasants. The ruling class has contempt for the average person without the fancy family estate in New England. They are outnumbered but they have powerful tools like the CIA, FBI and big tech to protect themselves. They also know if they make just the right pitch to losers that are jealous of their neighbors, they will have fierce soldiers with undying loyalty, aka YOU

False.
That’s just what they tell you, because they don’t want to do their jobs.

Then wouldn’t that be the Democrats shutting down the government?
Or is that (D)ifferent?

Why is he happily doing that which he said he wouldn’t? Promoting it as the correct path even.
It’s one thing to make concessions, people understand compromise, but he is selling these bills as the way forward, not a necessary evil.

I would settle for passing the amendment that requires a warrant for surveillance on US citizens.
