Nate Yeskie’s old staff is now the pitching staff for the number 1 team in college

Maybe there is hope our pitchers will figure it out. Surely after a full season of work with Yeskie at the helm.

Yeskie is a good coach. We have a lot of new pitchers and he didn't have long with this staff before the season started. That is a lot of people to learn and get ready in a short amount of time. The longer he is in one place, the easier it gets for him. Next year, he won't have to meet and learn the mechanics of 20+ different pitchers. He'll start next year ahead of where we are now.

I'm curious what transfers they brought in but it's never good when you get a coach from another team and said team is killing it and you're not having as good of success.
I don't think it's all on Yeskie though

How much did he have to do with their development? I recall aTm fans rejoicing that he was leaving.

They got worse year over year his couple years in College Station.

Aggies were thrilled when we “stole” him. That says it all.

To be fair, they besmirch everyone that leaves whether it’s transfer player or coach. They can’t figure out why anyone would ever want to leave their cult.

An aggie diehard told me they were happy when he left. his specific complaint was they walked too many batters when he was the coach. would be interesting to compare walks this year and last year for both teams.

and our fans were doing backflips at the hire

I honestly don't think our walks this year would be wildly different than last year.
But everyone needs to find someone that loves them like Nate Yeskie loves waste pitches.

I started a thread couple of weeks ago questioning the hire and looking at A&M post Yeskie and caught a lot of flack from the rantards

Admittedly cherry picking a bit here, but aside from 2021 and 2023 (when he brought his teams to the CWS finals) Jay now has a career conference record of 81-83.

Fans are also stupid in general and blame the pitching coach for everything, you had dummies here who thought wes Johnson leaving was good.
I’m not defending the job Yeskie is doing, just saying fan reaction to leaving isn’t a good gauge

Yeah, but their fans are probably as stupid as ours.

Go look at the era for this year compared to last year for A&M. Night and day
Then go look at their returning pitchers and compare their ERAs…….
7.34 > 2.32
4.3 > 0.5
5.92 > 4.19
6.75 > 2.08
4.78 > 3.32
3.46 > 1.47
There is 1 that increased this year and I’m sure I missed some. The site was jumping around a bit but……..
I know some of you can do a better job than I did but this was just a little quick check so it may not be accurate

I tried to make this point a while ago too. I just think Yeskie's on the downward slide, it was a bad hire. Will Jay rectify it, or keep him in the name of "continuity" and risk another year like this one?
And another thing: why is LSU the home of the coach who ruins EVERY BIT of goodwill from a championship run the next season? Do we have that pattented?

Weird. Its almost like guys get better with more experience
I can’t say I’m a fan of him so far but still too early to put it all on him. I’ll let it play out
