Pay attention to player interaction with him……body language says it all.

2023- walks per 9------- 3.7
whip---------------1.61
2024- walks per 9--------3.11
whip---------------1.15

so on pace for under 200 walks this year vs 300+ last year if math is correct and they throw around the same number of innings as last year.

correlation does not equal causation but thats a big difference.

hope we see better pitching next year.

By watching his interactions with the players……totally different than how they act with Jay or any of the other coaches for that matter. Also sit on 3rd base side…..he doesn’t talk to the pitchers between innings which is very odd.

That is totally different from how they interacted with Wes last year. They liked him a lot and improved throughout the year.

He’s going to be the first PC Jay has had at LSU that doesn’t get a HC job after 1 season. Might be a reason that he’s been so highly regarded but never got a HC gig.

Agree but still something to watch. If there is a coach/player issue then that’s HUGE and will have to be fixed……..

Yeskie is a good coach. We have a lot of new pitchers and he didn't have long with this staff before the season started. That is a lot of people to learn and get ready in a short amount of time. The longer he is in one place, the easier it gets for him. Next year, he won't have to meet and learn the mechanics of 20+ different pitchers. He'll start next year ahead of where we are now.

I mean, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a pitching coach arrive.

I assume the performance is related to the talent. and maybe those players need time to hit their potential. But saying Yeskie can’t perform because he was unfamiliar with the team is ridiculous.

I recall aTm fans rejoicing that he was leaving.

Hitting has been the issue this year and last year. The difference is that last year, you had Crews, Dugas, and Beloso, who could bail you out with a HR at any given time. LSU does not have that luxury this year.

Weird. Its almost like guys get better with more experience

This is true, but we will have an apple to apple comparison, given that it is an SEC school with a similar schedule, next season

If the experience is more relevant, we should see some drastic results with our pitching next season

If the issue is more coaching, God help us
