accept position as D-Line coach at LSU, UCLA Def Coor. to become LSU Def. Coordinator and Willis originally from Auburn to become Linebackers Coach....just heard all of this on espn radio. I think that's a heck of a hire on the Line and he can recruit as well.

It wouldn't make a great deal of sense to finalize anything but the DC position first. Any DC worth his salt is going to want some input into who his staff is, and Les would want DC to take ownership of the staff changes.
ETA: The above isn't based on any information. It's just based on reasonable organizational management.

As I recall, neither Pellini nor Muschamp picked their other defensive coaches.

Maybe a football coaching staff isn't quite the same as other organizations. Certainly could be the case for all I know.

You are obviously being intentionally vague.
What's the reason for that? Just curious.

Here is part of the article that I saw about the coaching change:
The other three coaches being discussed as possibilities to replace the defensive staff are Ed Orgeron for the defensive line, though Orgeron is also being heavily pursued by Tennessee and this thing is likely to get very interesting before it's over, former Auburn linebackers coach James Willis set to take over a similar position at LSU, which would be a gigantic get for the Tigers since Willis (whose bio is here) is also known as a terrific recruiter and has done a fantastic job with Auburn's linebackers the last three years, and LSU assistant strength coach Corey Raymond moving up to coach the Tiger safeties. Raymond has been working with LSU's secondary the last couple of years and most think he's ready to assume a full-time assistant coaching position - so much so that if LSU doesn't move him up somebody else likely will snap him up.
If the foursome of Walker, Orgeron, Willis and Raymond does materialize, it's going to signal a major change in direction for this coaching staff on the defensive side. This season, LSU's staff personality has been a lot more studious and passive, and that has translated into a lack of intensity on the field. Bring these four guys in and it's a complete 180; Walker, Orgeron and Willis are known as hard-edged, intense coaches who demand excellence and don't mind getting after people in order to achieve it. If you believe a team will follow the personality of its coach, LSU's defense would get a lot meaner and nastier with this group running it.
Here is the whole article:
