Matt Reeves and James Gunn will make these. Do you really need three live action Batmen at the same time?
+1 I'm hoping Gunn holds off on batman for a while.

Gimmicky.
I passed on the first one because it sounded like a repackaging of Taxi Driver to make money off a comic book franchise. This looks like more of the same with a musical gimmick tossed in for marketing.
Three quarters of every movie and TV show these days are about "dark, complex, morally ambiguous" characters. Are they going to connect this Joker back to the franchise at all? If not, it's just a cheap money grab. If you want to (once again) explore the complexities of mentally ill felons, there are countless better examples...they just come with a higher risk factor without the comic book crutch. This feels a bit like Natural Born Killers, an overglossed, overdone, sarcastic stab at a serious topic. But Natural Born Killers didn't call itself The Fantastic Four.

Was mildly disappointed with the first one, but it is kinda set up for some good potential. I'd watch it.
The only part I didn't like was the interview. I thought his choice of mannerisms was strange.

I liked the first one, and i'm looking forward to this one as well.

The Joker, removed from the universe, removed from who he is, is not an interesting character - and that's why the first movie isn't interesting and doesn't last.
This dammit.
I mean, make it a movie about a psychopath. Call it anything else.

And "dark comedy" that isn't at all funny but totally depressing.

“Who asked for this?” - poster that regularly bemoans the lack of creativity in comic book movies
I'm not really all that excited for the movie since I thought the first Joker movie was a so so flick about mental illness w/the Joker IP slapped over it but anyone who says a movie that turns the Joker into a 2 hour musical lacks creativity is never going to be happy w/another comic book movie being made anyway.

NEW at #CinemaCon: Todd Phillips #JokerFolieADeux will join the likes of Dune2 and Oppenheimer by screening in both IMAX and IMAX 70mm upon release this October. Currently only 30 theaters in the world can show a movie in IMAX 70mm.

Like the first film, there’s nothing related to the comics about this. It’s a vehicle designed to use comic book names to draw in money for an original story because this wouldn’t make money any other way.
