Trailer

quote:

NEW at #CinemaCon: And the grand finale! The first trailer for #JokerFolieADeux is about to drop. Todd Phillips on stage now. “I like to say it’s a movie where music is an essential element. To me that doesn’t veer too far from the first film. One if the first ways I described the character is that he has music in him - he has a lot of grace to him. It’s different, but it will make sense when you see it.”

Was mildly disappointed with the first one, but it is kinda set up for some good potential. I'd watch it.

I wonder if Timmy Dillon will make the cut. He implied that Phillips wasn't very pleased with his acting.

not so much a comic book movie complaint as a general complaint about Hollywood, but point taken

i'm cautiously optimistic about this movie and think the musical angle could be cool

Looking at that teaser...

If GaGa didn't have mental health issues before filming this, working with that interplanetary actor may push her there. There's a different level of "acting" there.

I have no interest in this one. Not even a little.

I do wonder how they’ll handle Harley falling for Joker in this one. Before he was master manipulator who preyed on Harley’s sympathy and naive nature and turned it into a toxic relationship. This version of the Joker isn’t really a master at anything and just seems really mentally unstable more likely to be considered some weird freak by women then someone they’d fall for

I think the movie is hallucination. One of them is very mentally ill.

I will admit I was wary when they first announced it would be a musical years ago, but I'm thinking this could potentially be good. I'll be watching in theaters for sure.

I was more than mildly disappointed. The first one straight up sucked and it looks like this one will too.

Joker is supposed to be in some way, a challenge to The Bat. There's nothing about this frickin' guy and I mean nothing that could challenge any version of Batman.

You want to know why they put this pathetic character in Joker paint? It's because a movie about a garden variety incel spree killer goes straight to streaming, that's why.

Agree. If they had given us something - anything - to make us think he could contend with Batman. Even so much as a throwaway line from his mother, "You were so good in your chemistry and science classes in school. I wish you had stayed with it, dear" would have helped. This guy is just a harelipped loser's loser. Nothing shows his potential to be a criminal mastermind.

I remember hearing Joaquin didn't want to do a sequel. Money talks. Does it have to be Lady Gaga? Is there no other blonde actresses out their with a less abhorrent ego? frick it, I'll probably watch it. Gross.
