somewhere in ascension parish; some boomer sits on his porch, sipping his morning bud light, shaking his fist at the clouds because of the coming school closures....

man that changed quickly for us in Bham - 2 or so days ago, we were barely in the green.
well glad I cut my grass Saturday to do it again next weekend after my yard turns into a fricking jungle because a rain drop touched it lol

**Please note that I don’t control school closures, nor do I advocate for or against school closures. I started this thread simply for discussion and sharing information about the weather.**

Do not stare directly into a tornado without special glasses

I’ve read of projected 3-4” size hail in west/central North Texas later today. Could get rough for those folks this afternoon.

I don’t see anything that’s thread worthy

Then don’t post in the thread

I'm more concerned with getting everything done today before 48 hrs of storms than I am the eclipse. This rain is going to shut me down for 2-3 days.

Could bring some flooding rains to the lower Mississippi Valley

How might this affect gasoline and crawfish prices?

I live west of there. Between Hugo and Durant, close to the Red.

Oh shite, when did KHDC come online?

Nice! Havent been that way in a while. Thinking about making a pass through this summer to show my wife the broken bow area.
Basically all of my dads side leading up to him is buried out there. My uncle pastored the small free will baptist church in idabel before he died. Theres a church out near valliant that my dad's dad did a lot of the stonework on before he passed in the 60's (he passed when my dad was 5 or 6). He was an evangelist in the area and planted a few churches i think. Theres actually a few pictures and artifects from my dads family in the museum they have at beavers bend.
Sorry for the highjack and csb. Since alot of that side is gone now i dont get to talk about them much so its always nice to get it off my chest a bit.
