Next week… Better check that forecast.

Good chance of rain and clouds for the hill country through N Texas as of the latest models.

I'm live in a small town in southeast Missouri that is in the 4 minute-ish totality area. We are having a music festival, Jeff Foxworthy is doing a show, Night Ranger is doing a show, Holiday Inn rooms are going for upwards of $1k/night. It's liable to get worse as we are only in an area with 35-ish% chance of rain and cloud cover.

I don't understand the hype but if that's your thing, enjoy!

Even so far out GFS has been locked in on Monday being shite across Texas for a while now. It’ll be cool for it to randomly get dark for 5 minutes but it would suck to not see it.

Though the “average cloud cover” product on GFS that was posted is pretty trash this far out. But it’s a signal that some areas will be bad.

I am supposed to be driving to conway AR for the eclipse, but it looks like rain as well. I'm not driving 7 hrs for cloud cover.

People are going to waste time and money driving to see it get dark for 5 minutes.

Fascinating.

Maybe they are coming to be a part of the post eclipse traffic jam.

After the last one, in the middle no nowhere, Tennessee, folks were happy and not impatient because they HAD SEEN THE ECLIPSE.

If mext week's is a washout, folks aren't going to be at all happy.

I’m amazed at the lengths people are going to view the eclipse. Driving from many miles away and spending a lot of money. Just not really interested honestly.

I understand it’s rare and all but to drive a long distance and basically make a vacation out of it?
