Willie Green said Brandon Ingram was able to do some work on the court today. Another positive step in his recovery process.

Green added that he feels pretty good about Dyson Daniels making his return against Boston. Jose Alvarado is less likely.

Dyson would be massive in a game like this.

Definitely need someone to soak up some minutes without BI and Jose.

Agreed. Willie probably shot his confidence by moving him to the G League and back and still never giving him minutes.

I don’t think his confidence got shot but I do think for a rookie he lost his rhythm and his specific role in the offense. Hawkins is a volume 3 pt shooter and its hard to be that when you’re only getting a handful of minutes in the first half. Theres a ton of potential in Hawkins but the team has to fully invest in giving him minutes- thats not happening this season.

If Hawkins is that sensitive, there’s a problem.

Its not being sensitive its trying to understand what your role on the team is. It’s difficult as a rookie to understand and adapt to that unless you get actual NBA minutes. Your acting like Hawk should act like a 10 year vet. Hes still trying to find out who he is as a NBA player and again you need actual NBA minutes to understand that. 5 minutes in the second quarter really does nothing to help a player.

I can pretty much promise that hawk has been told his roll/what to expect and why/for how long he was being sent down each time…

So you can guarantee that Willie told him that hey you’re going from a full time rotation guy to DNP to gleague to some what rotation guy to DNP to gleague again to maybe 2 minutes in the second quarter guy?? And even if he was told that your expectation is for him to know his role and be successful in it??

Im not spinning anything but expecting any rookie to be succesful in that type constantly changing role is absolutely ridiculous. Even if he was told that- as a player wouldn’t you be like that shite makes no sense.

No but it’s normal for playoff caliber teams ….got plenty early playing time while team was dealing with injuries…then pels had good injury luck for 2nd 3rd and majority of 4th quarter of season. Not many minutes/shots to give to a rookie “volume shooter” on a deep team in top 10 in offense and defense already.
But his time is coming

Im not disagreeing with you there and completely get that. Its just I think expecting a rookie to be successful in those kind of changing roles is pretty difficult.

Makes me wonder what team would be if BI isn't retained. Trey takes that spot and hawk takes over as 6th man. Next season/down the road

I Don't think that's the plan though

If BI stays, I honestly think will they trade either Hawkins or Dyson to upgrade elsewhere on the team.

Plus we all know willie is the family n faith guy. And that leads me to strongly believe he's been straight forward with hawk

Most likely. But I'd think toward end of either's rookie $ deal. Resigning BI would put pels in luxury taxfor first time. IIRC

Man I hope Gayle finally willing
To bite the bullet for this team
