KEY POINTS
• Disney agreed to end litigation in state court involving a Florida special tourism district containing the entertainment giant’s Walt Disney World resort.
• The lawsuit was related to the takeover of the district at the behest of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after Disney had opposed the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” law.
• “We are pleased to put an end to all litigation pending in state court in Florida between Disney and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District,” Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle said.
The judge ruled that Disney lacked legal standing to sue DeSantis on its claim he violated the company’s First Amendment rights by pushing to change the Reedy Creek Improvement District due to Disney’s opposition to the law.
Disney had appealed the dismissal of that suit.
But in its agreement Wednesday with the CFTOD, Disney agreed “to seek, and the District will not oppose, permission from the court to defer briefing in Disney’s pending federal appeal ... pending negotiations among other matters of a new development agreement between Disney and the District.”

If you read the article, there’s no clear “winner” here. Disney’s going to negotiate against the district out of court and pausing their federal suit for now

I remember when certain posters on here were convinced that desantis was outmaneuvered by Disney on the whole reedy Creek thing. Subsequently had their federal first amendment case thrown out and then lost their state of Florida case
