I don’t even mean this to shite on Ron, because I didn’t think appearing to go after this Disney woke shite was anything but a smart move on his part, but I have always suspected there was, at the very least, a lot of winking and nodding going on WITH Disney with this stuff.
I believe they likely realized how much they had gone too far with this stuff, turned off middle America (you know, their whole bread and butter), and needed something like he was doing to them more than anything to at least have it appear they are being brought back into the fold. There’s no way they aren’t in on it all.

Man are you off with that. I’ll fill you in: after y’all (rightists, and indeed quite a few former supporters) had been relentlessly trashing Trump for I don’t even know how long, and particularly when y’all wouldn’t let up…….at that time it actually seemed dumb to not respond in kind. So blame yourselves, don’t blame us or use Trump as an excuse. ETA……The craziest thing about it all is that folks could make some strange and unusual efforts on both sides to come to a very simplistic agreement that in this game, nobody wins. Form an alliance, even if a tenuous one. But no chance. The will just isn’t there for either side. Of course I would love to, but big whoop eh? What I truly dislike most though is that the farther it goes and more vitriolic it gets - I can’t stop myself from feeling like I’m starting to have pessimistic thoughts towards RD myself. It’s just the nasty atmosphere.

Disney had no problem letting DeSanctus get his headlines and stump speech talking point because Disney kept everything they need and want.
