The house my brother and I lived in was near Lake Merritt at the top of Ivy hill. It is a beautiful area with friendly neighbors of all races. We were treated well by almost all of the black people who lived in the area including several of the black guys who lived in the projects. Hats off to Papado and Keith. Almost everyone especially the black women got off on the fact we are twin brothers. We met a lot of really nice people when we took walks around portions of Lake Merritt. That area is a nice place to live. It's too bad there are some troublemakers who occasionally show up.
Sounds like a fricking utopia. Why didn’t you stay instead of moving back to that shite stain of a city call San Fransisco

I lived in Oakland from 1979 to 2005 and the Lake Merritt area is a Mediterranean jewel. Crime is high, but crime is also high in places like Nashville, Indianapolis and Columbus. Many of you seem to think that it is a West Coast version of Baltimore or Memphis. The Oakland Hills are the closest thing to the Hollywood Hills.

The owner of the house who was a friend of my brother's and mine and who invited us to live with her after her husband died unexpectedly died in her sleep one night and her relatives who inherited the house sold the house as fast as they could for the money.
When the house was sold we had no choice but to leave because the new owners moved in immediately and told us we had to leave.

Our country is disintegrating before our very eyes. There are no boundaries anymore and people have full rein to act any which way is good in their eyes towards others.
I'm sick. Maybe this crap has been going on for years; we're just more sensitive to it now

This is what you vote for. It’s your fault.

Are you the one that saw sea serpents in the Bay?

Okay. I didn't vote for Trump, but I didn't vote for chaos and disorder.
Oakland used to be a great American city. Home of the world champion A's in the 1970's and home of Daryle Lamonica, Al Davis and Alvin Dark. A sane alternative to Frisco with warmer weather. It's just a violent mess today

And yet, you keep voting to support it.

If you choose to continue voting Dem, that’s on you. However, you can no longer claim ignorance.

When I wore a younger man's clothes, I supported Republican candidates, notably Nixon, Reagan and the elder Bush. I actually worked on Reagan's first presidential campaign. There was a lot of resistance to him early on.
If the Republicans could run someone other than that egomaniacal fool jerk Trump, maybe I could get behind that. Right now, considering RFK and his newly-minted running mate.

Oakland and the entire Bay Area are a result of progressive politics put into action.
How can you not see that? Portland, Seattle. Progressive
Chicago, St Louis, Memphis, New Orleans, Baltimore — all a result of democrat policies at work.
Everything progressive democrats touch turns to crime infested shite holes.
Every.single.time
But for some reason DJT offends you? I thought men got more wise as they age.
Not you.
