Who knows if these guys stick, but it is nice seeing top defensive players considering SC again. The new defensive staff is off to a great start.

Over the weekend, USC held a recruiting event and it could not have gone much better.
Five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry flipped from Georgia to USC despite being committed to the Bulldogs for more than a year and being from Manchester, Ga.
The Trojans also landed a commitment from four-star defensive end Isaiah Gibson from Warner Robins, Ga., long considered a Georgia lean. Four-star defensive backs Hylton Stubbs (considered a Florida lean for a while) and Dominick Kelly out of Tampa (Fla.) Robinson also made their pledges. The night got polished off when high three-star DE Gus Cordova from Austin (Texas) Lake Travis also committed.
It has been long argued that working off the Pete Carroll recruiting model works best at USC: The Trojans have to recruit nationally for linemen and locally for skill players.
After such a productive weekend, the Trojans now have commitments from the two best players in the state of Georgia – five-star quarterback Julian Lewis and Terry. The other five-star in the state, Savannah Christian’s Elijah Griffin, was also on campus but sources say it could be really tough to pull him that far away from home as the Bulldogs still lead.

They finally taught the D how to tackle?!

So the big 10 is big boy now? This board has always told me it's a mediocre conference. Which is it?

The guy who tried to kill his teammate?

In college it really is more about players than anything.
Fans of certain programs will say what they want to about having "genius defensive coaches", but theres a reason those guys either aren't in the NFL or didn't work out there.
Getting multiple future NFL defensive linemen that you can rotate going up against future car salesmen, insurance agents, and coaches in 90% of your games is the biggest predictor of winning a championship.

that's my opinion, no more playing arizona and arizona st, now playing michigan, penn st, wisconsin, ohio st, and still having to deal with oregon...just tougher

I agree, just messing with you. Ohio St is the big boy, not sure what happens to Michigan without Harbaugh, and James Franklin ain't scaring anybody. SC can and should compete year in and year out.

Big Ten is top heavy.
Ohio State and Michigan are the heavy hitters with the likes of Penn State and Wiscy as the next tier.
There is a whole lot of mediocrity past those four programs.
With the PAC, there has generally been 1-2 programs and a lot of crap. Having to go into Columbus, Ann Arbor, State College, Camp Randall, etc, isn’t necessarily going to be what they are used to.

Based on that 8-5 step back with the heisman trophy winner after going 11-1 in the previous regular season? That would make more sense if their previous two seasons were reversed.

Only matters if they can get them to stay. Domani Jackson & Tackett Curtis didn’t

We will see where the program is at when they play LSU.

Oh I agree. Recruiting isn't what it used to be. They can transfer at any time now. But this new staff is exciting, and the school is making more of a commitment to NIL.

They have the defensive staff in place to be really good, but will need time and talent.
Seems like getting the talent isn't going to be a problem at all.

Lincoln Riley
Been to the playoffs 3 times, lost to Alabama (more talent) Georgia (More talent, was seconds away from being the champ that year) and LSU (More talent, maybe best CFB team ever).

Brian Kelly
Been to the playoffs twice, scored 17 points combined in two losses
