High school football participation has been collapsing in California

Yeah I know...California weirdos here have been on an anti-football bent for some time. fricking soccer fields everywhere.

Pete Carroll said early on, all we have to do is shore up L.A. and roll down to Long Beach Poly for the linemen and then grab a QB from Mater Del and we're good.

So USC lost their backyard like Georgia and Florida and LSU have. USC being truly dominate again is a lot tougher than people realize.

Let's see if they actually sign or if it was just a visit high. They sold Terry on being able to get him more one on one matchups instead of facing double and triple teams all the time plus had Arron Donald there saying how great his coach was.

Five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry flipped from Georgia to USC despite being committed to the Bulldogs for more than a year and being from Manchester, Ga.

The Trojans also landed a commitment from four-star defensive end Isaiah Gibson from Warner Robins, Ga., long considered a Georgia lean. Four-star defensive backs Hylton Stubbs (considered a Florida lean for a while) and Dominick Kelly out of Tampa (Fla.) Robinson also made their pledges. The night got polished off when high three-star DE Gus Cordova from Austin (Texas) Lake Travis also committed.

This is a shite strategy in the transfer portal era IMO. You'll have a mass exodus every offseason.

It’s nothing new. Baseball has always been a bigger deal, in SoCal especially. And soccer since the 80s.
