Kids' grandparents asking for medical consent for a few days of babysitting... thoughts?

Question for the parents on the OT:
Do you prepare a medical consent form (or whatever they call it where you are) if your kids are in the care of someone else for more than a few days?
We have never done this or even considered it, but the in-laws are keeping the kids for the first time in 17 years and have asked for one. It's odd to me, because my parents have kept them for as much as a month during the summer and we never had one. We aren't leaving the country, we will be a few hours away.
Thoughts? Practical? Extreme? Just do it?
thx

I have never even considered this honestly

Is one of your in-laws an attorney or are they an ultra-high net worth couple?

we did it. it's never been used but it would certainly grease the skids if something were to happen and speed was a premium.

This is extremely odd unless you are leaving the country & will not be able to be reached

I’ve never heard of this, and I’m a woman.

We do it in our family for out of the country or not available by phone situations.

Same. My parents asked for it when wife and I went abroad for a couple weeks.

No.

If you're out of the country, I could see maybe doing it. Though, we've left the country and didn't. It just seems weird doing it if you will still be able to be contacted by phone.

Not with these 2. More likely grandad buys them a bump-stock and they have an incident.

This should be studied because it is true

Please let us have a look at this consent form

I can see the reasoning. I would never ask for that, and I'm a paranoid grandparent. I'd resort to killing some hospital workers if my grandchild wasn't being "saved" because of some paperwork though. (heaven forbid)

Lovely people. Just not people we've ever left the kids with outside of while on vacation WITH them.
