So maybe Miles will not have to make a decision after all??!

This is why Miles waited, Instead of firing them he knew they would get other jobs. He wasn't gonna shite on his pals likes that. So all you rantards who said he wouldn't make a change.

I think most were still criticizing the fact that Miles was putting his buddies before the LSU program and his $3.75 mil job.
However, it looks as though he's been contacting potential DCs while waiting for his buddies to get jobs, and that seems like it's working out perfectly...as long as he gets the guy he wants.
However, the bottom line is that Miles was insisting that no coaching changes were going to be made before the bowl, and he made repeated comments earlier in the season about the D playing fairly well...when in fact, they weren't. So I think many rantards, such as myself, were justified in being worried about what was happening behind the scenes.

Why is a school like Northwestern State taking so long to make a decision?

Maybe they were waiting to see if more people would be available after bowl season.

NSU AD Greg Burke said at the beginning when he didn't renew Stoker's contract that he wanted a new coach in place by Christmas.
So I don't think waiting til after bowl season was ever an option.
Looks like they are right on time on their timetable.
From what I'm hearing up this way, I'd be shocked if Peveto wasn't named NSU head coach by Friday.

Chicken, NSU always takes time in making a coaching decision, but if you ask me they dropped the ball in letting Stoker go. All indication I have gathered point to it coming down between Peveto and Dennis Dunn.

I agree here.
The talk was they need to "get the fan base back."
Hell, NSU never HAD a fan base.
A few years ago under Sam Goodwin they were playing a semifinal playoff game at home for the right to go to Chattanooga for the championship and Turpin Stadium wasn't half-full.
Scott Stoker should have been coach there a long time and he would have been about as successful as NSU could expect to be in football.

I have no problem with that at all as long as Les gets the guy he was after.
If he can do that without a bloodletting then fine.
I do admit I was wondering what was going on behind the scenes though.

what is wrong with that, he allowed them to go out with some dignity, nothing wrong with this method of managing a program. whats important to the future is the replacements of there positions on the staff.

i know what you mean. i have family ties to NSU and it is a understatement to say how pathetic the fanbase is at NSU

Link? If you honestly don't think he told them they needed new employment, there is truly no hope for you.

Please never post here again. Your ignorance is so astounding, that I'm actually speechless.
Miles told them to start job hunting, and they did. He realized that they helped us win a NC. We're also in a bowl (see Auburn), and you wanted him to S*** on these guys.
Yet you expect the best coaches in the nation to sign up to coach for a guy that would treat them like you expect?
You sir, are the very definition of a "ranter"

If you can't appreciate the connection between developing and maintaining a reputation for treating your subordinates with respect and the long-term health of the institution, you're likely to have some problems in the real world.
