Heck no. Would you want to be called Erskine?

In my family the name "Robert" has been a tradition in each generation for at least 800 years. My father was Robert but known by his middle name. I didn't get it because my first cousin "Bobby" was the oldest male of my generation. Among my more distant cousins there are multiple chains of Roberts including one who was Robert IV in his family chain but refused to name his son Robert V, saying that since three generations lived on the same street their social security and medical records were already too screwed up.

Everybody just calls me Mr. Rastaman.

My experience is people who use their middle name are trying to hide something and usually have a criminal record.
