So we can all take an online real estate course and do what the buyer's agent does, right?

All I see are real estate agents trying to smugly warn about how much worse it's going to make life for buyers because now they have to pay their agents. But we have the internet, and the only even remotely proprietary knowledge is the stuff that's in Real Estate for Dummies I assume?
Learn the basic steps of real estate contracts and escrow and then where to send the documents and roll credits?

I'm sure like everything else it's hard to be a great real estate agent, but based on the people we all know who do it, it ain't hard to make a living at it.

If you don’t think realtors deserve their fair share of the transaction you must hate women and lgbt people

89% of US homebuyers use a buyer agent
The average for developed nations is 30%
In the Netherlands, it’s 20%
In the UK, it’s below 5%
We’ll be fine

I had no idea it was this skewed. Almost like US realtors colluded to force buyers to use them when the preference would be to bypass them.

I’ve sold a few houses without a realtor and used my mortgage broker to file all my paperwork because she was a realtor. It’s not hard. As long as you can negotiate price, understand the forms, and agree to terms it’s not hard.

No they don't. Technology will quickly replace buyer agents

Speaking of useless, what about mortgage loan originators? I'm sure they have a fancy title by now but someone please tell me the value of this.

I’m not giving a realtor 5-6% especially when it isn’t that difficult to do.
