re: Do not even think of fricking with a SPYPOINT camera

I'll go on out on a limb and say I've never been more furious at customer service than with Spypoint. I after a year or two I conceded defeated and through mine away just to be done with the frustration.

I come from a completely impartial/non-biased 7+ year experience with SPYPOINT. I have no skin in the game with them.
My boss has a couple on his ranch 5 hours away, and since I'm decent on a computer the updates, maintenance and troubleshooting falls on me at the office.
To begin, frick SPYPOINT. They are garbage.
We put them out, they run a few months and then they quit. You have to go to the ranch (5 hours) to retrieve the cameras. We now take a laptop every time we go out there just in case we need to hot spot a cell phone and try to fix them. Cell service sucks, so that's another issue in itself. Format SD cards, update firmware, etc. and begin process again. They work another couple of months... Maybe. Repeat process of updating, etc.
They have a real knack of going out at the worst times. A day or two after you just left, right when the time of year is getting perfect, whatever.
It's a joke. They are all a horribly designed piece of shite.
P.S. frick them French bastards and their Indian customer service.

My solution was to put extended antennas on most of them.
Did this work? I've considered doing that w/ my Verizon network Spypoint. Verizon used to have the best signal of the cell phone carriers in SW AR where I hunt. Unfortunately, some time after buying my first Spypoint camera, Verizon now has a really weak, if any, at my hunting stand. AT&T previously had a really poor signal, but it's signal is now much better than Verizon.

Yeah it works, dirty little secret you can buy them cheap on eBay. The ones with the plastic dome on the end or best. I attach them to a pole or something and put them as high up as I can. Below.

Update: The other camera from my 2 pack is fricked. It worked a whole 6 months straight, a SPYPOINT record.
I will post pics leaked into battery compartment as usual.
One of my other ones , was actually stolen. What a dumb frick, it’s like stealing a YUGO. The dumb frick turned it on today and I have location and picture. I don’t know whether to turn him in or just let him suffer.

If you have SPYPOINT use the chat on the website for customer support.

I assume you guys are talking about a trail/wildlife camera.... Which is good because I want one.
I have some bird feeders in my back yard. I am getting some crazy different birds and other things come to them and I would like to have some decent pictures/videos of them. Id also like to see what is coming in at night
Can you guys recommend a decent camera that I can buy and put up back there? I dont need any cell stuff, I can use a card. Simple is better.
Id like something that takes decent quality pictures and videos. We have a pool cage and taking pictures from inside just sucks. I want to put this on a pole or tree outside by my feeders.
Thanks in advance

If I did it all over again, I'd get tactacams but we are overly invested in spypoints.

I had a buddy with a tactacam that went underwater for 3 days and continued to send him pictures.
I immediately chunked all my spypoints and switched.

I had all your same problems but with Tactacam. Swapped to spypoint 2 years ago and im running the new FLEX cameras and they have been perfect!. great battery life, great cell signal pickup. and I even put solar panel on 2 of flex's and they have been in the woods over a year and never a hiccup. even got a squirrel pic this morning from one of em. The Link Micro were cheapos and was a good cheap camera that you expected to go down after some use. i mean they were 2 for $100 bucks so not much to expect

Got my replacement LTE micro in today. Looks new in a box. They said I can keep my bad one. It probably will work taking pics but not communicating. It will go in the backyard woods
They also gave me two free months and gave me my 15 bucks back for last month.
Will see how it goes. It’s used in the woods behind the house.
Will look into something else for where I hunt in the swamp

Welp. Scratch that. Just got my first set of night pics sent to me. All very dark as the sun set and got darker to all black once no light was available.
Guess I’ll be calling them back. Ficking SPYPOINT
