re: Labrador Retriever breeders

I have 2 labs from Cool Meadow Labs in Foxworth (outside Tylertown), MS. Great dogs and great people. One is actually a yellow female that just turned 5 months old---super sweet and pretty dog.
thank yall for all the recommendations! I passed on to my mechanic. Fingers cross it is something this easy/idiotic
It's an Alumacraft. It has had significant welding done to the underside of the hull but they are holding.

Unfortunately, as I was dropping off at the mechanic's he mentioned the theory on the live well. My thought would be to plug the main drain and outflow of live well and then blast water into live well intake. After a few minutes pull main plug and see if water comes out.

And since we only use boat for back water riding (no fishing) I just plug all 3 each time we ride and we are good to go . . . hopefully
Long story short my center console boat leaks significantly when moving. We have filled the boat up with water and it appears to be water tight. The guy I bought it from said that it leaked a little at the jack plate. However, when running the waterline is way below where the jack plate is bolted on.

My mechanic seems to think that my live well lines are cracked and that is the source of the water getting into the boat.

Has anyone ever encountered this? It makes a ton of sense but at the same time I feel stupid to think that just plugging both live well lines would fix the issue.
thank you. Exactly the kind info I was looking for.

I figured the Telos may be overkill for what I do.

Thermal Monocular Brands etc

A friend of mine who primarily hunts in the swamp has a Pulsar Telos X50 monocular. He said he bumps way less deer/hogs walking into stay easing around. From what little I used it, it seems really awesome other than the price ($3,500). Someone else recommended DNT Hound 635 as a cheaper alternative for scanning thickets/cutovers etc.

Obviously, you get what you pay for but for what it is, will there be that much drop off with a cheaper alternative?

it was in a discussion of the operations of Glasscock/Morville Field/Levee that I first heard my dad use the term "whore-tel" . . .

The K's are the family that truly own/owned most of the land on Glassock. JD basically muscled his way into "managing" the land back in the day for taking the rap for gambling/prostitution operations on the levee.

Scary to think what all is in the bottom of the blue hole . . .

corn is literally sprouting from sitting so long. Maybe I'll switch to rice bran.

Too Many Acorns

Posted by Nannyslayer on 12/1/25 at 10:20 am
Anyone else in SW Mississippi have tons of acorns in woods? Deer are in absolute lockdown.
Thank you all! I have actually added fountains in the last year as well so I feel alot better.
We have a liner pool. In the first few months we had it, my dog put a tiny hole in liner. We found and repaired it, no big deal. Now in the last month or so, we are adding water 1-2 times a week. We are just outside of Baton Rouge and it has been insanely hot. I have read online that losing 1/4 inch a day is not uncommon. I imagine we are right around 1/4 inch a day but it seems like alot since it's so hot lately.

This sound normal or am I just paranoid?
This is obviously not your first rodeo.

I planted a little over an acre in brown top millet but johnson grass choked out about 1/2 of it. Based on the LA pamphlet I can plant 90-120 lbs per acre in wheat. It's my understanding I could go back in and clip, disk, and replant with wheat prior to the season. However, just make sure wheat is covered prior to opening day.
You hear so many different theories . . . what has been your experience in operating in a shade of gray?

I've done sunflowers and millet with "supplemental" feed in between clipped rows. That kosher with green jeans?

Who has best price for a pallet? Got one quote per pallet in Prairieville of $290. Wondering if that's the norm this season.
I'll go on out on a limb and say I've never been more furious at customer service than with Spypoint. I after a year or two I conceded defeated and through mine away just to be done with the frustration.
This is typical hunting camp bs. It's all about how someone spins the narrative.

Reality: Hunter A follows the rules, pays dues, attends work days. He gets his money's worth by coming a good bit etc. but that's why you spend the money. Hunter A slipped up by letting his kid shoot a smaller doe--big deal. New guy got lucky and killed ol moose horns.

However, a long-time member B has old moose horns on camera.

New narrative to camp president: Hunter A LIVES at the camp. He lets his kid shoot up the woods. I saw 2 empty beer cans in the back of his truck. He killed moose horns just so no one else kill him bc otherwise he would mounted it. he obviously doesn't respect land/animals etc

Then Hunter A is kicked out

With seed already in the ground, how much rain is needed to germinate? It appears we got less than 1/10" in SW MS

Hitch Basket on Polaris Ranger

Posted by Nannyslayer on 10/23/23 at 11:10 am
Due to some logistical issues I am having to ride bugggy into camp. Has anyone put a hitch basket on Ranger with any luck?

Was thinking of getting an extender that also lifts up a few inches too.
Just an FYI Beretta A300 is a bit finicky on the shells it will eject.

I bought an SX4 to replace it and so far so good.
