NI bicyclist killed. Dark clothes

A New Iberia bicyclist was killed this morning around 6:30am. Struck from behind by a truck while riding in the dark wearing dark clothes.

A few days ago two people were struck by a car near Lafayette. 3 in the morning and walking down a road with dark clothing. Driver fled and was later caught.
Do people simply not own light colored clothes any more or are they just too clueless? I see this fairly often driving home at night.

Lights to attach to bike aren’t expensive but need to buy vapes and alcohol instead

Is this an upstanding citizen who's into cycling for recreation/fitness or a grown man riding a kids bike because he has too many DWIs and can't drive any more? How I feel about this situation depends on the answer.
I see a lot of the latter around her. Not many of the former.

I usually defend the cyclists because people have their heads up their arse while driving...but this guy was riding with dark clothes and no lights or reflectors at 6am. I get the feeling this wasn't a "cyclist" in the sense that the OT thinks. Probably not the driver's fault, and now he has to live with that

If you're operating a bicycle on a roadway at 3 AM wearing dark clothing and insufficient lighting/reflectors, then, yes, it's the cyclists' fault.

It said the guy today was riding at 6:30 am. Light is peeking through at that point. I know because I live close to Lafayette and was on my way to work at that hour.

I didn’t read the article and don’t know the details of the situation, but when I drive I’m not depending on the other guy to be prepared or heads up… I place that burden upon myself.

Were his lights not working? Did he hit him on purpose? Texting and driving? Does he post here and hate bikers?
