Butch Reed v Ric Flair in the Superdome extravaganza. 60 minutes and the time expired. Reed had rubber legs, Flair likely had a hangover. 1984 before Mid South folded?

Hogan/Rock WM in 2002 (I think?)
Never seen anything like it. Wasn’t how it was supposed to go I think but they went with it.
Runners up: Every PPV and Saturday night match growing up decades ago.
Have zero interest these days but as a kid it was amazing

eta: greatest start to a match I should say for my choice above
Greatest full match I ever watched as a kid was Macho and Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3

Hogan/rock for me because of the way fans reacted. Never seen anything like thst before.

Ddp/goldberg because of the storytelling in the match.

Austin vs Bret Hart "I Quit" match at WM13.

1997 Chicago. Pre neck-injury, earring, fire-breathing Austin (the best version he ever had).

Peak Bret Hart.

Double turn - Austin to Face, Hart to Heel.

Rare Vince, JR and King all on the call.

Ken Shamrock guest referee.

No acrobat stuntman bullshite. Just the best psychology and tough workers you'll ever see.

Mid South territory was better than WWF national brand. Went out of their way to make it look real.

It was a Tag-team Match between Billy Barty and Herve Villechaize vs Peter Dinklage and Verne Troyer, Troyer and Dinklage were DQ'ed because Dr. Evil and Fat Bastard interfered in the match.

Well, Flair was a 60 minute man!

I’m going to go way back … Nature Boy Buddy Rogers and Pat O’Connor before 39,000 people in Comiskey Park in Chicago in 1961.

For me, Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs Goldberg in Atlanta 1998.

It felt like a free PPV and Goldberg finally slayed the dragon. It was fricking wild for 8 year old me

ETA- Just saw someone else post this picture. I don’t think wrestling peaked after this moment. 2000-2001 WWF was pretty fricking amazing, but it was starting to lose its “cool factor”

None. There’s nothing great about half naked dudes dry humping and fondling each other.
