Long Covid is the newest variety of fibromyalgia.

My experience with "long covid" is the effect it had, and still has, albeit not as extreme as at first, is on my memory.
During the first month I had a difficult time thinking and speaking cognitively. It hurt to think as my brain could not come up with names, details and specifications that previously I could express with no problem. By 1:00 pm every day, I could not think about projects or answer emails because it actually hurt to think as it felt like my brain would swell from trying too hard to think clearly. I contacted my doctor multiple times in panic that I wouldn't return to normal.
I've had bad colds before. This was nothing like a bad cold. It's been six months and the effect on my memory still lingers and worried me. I never had memory issues with a cold or flu.
I don't care what it's called, but it is definitely NOT a cold virus as per usual.

My wife actually got pretty sick for about a week several weeks ago.
But the sky didn't fall. And it was still better than the flu

NO ONE is doing EEGs as part of covid follow-ups today
The lack of use of EEG by medical professionals is absolutely a problem, however there are absolutely specialists in Neurofeedback who use EEG to treat long Covid symptoms.

Covid disproportionately impacted the obese and diabetic. Lesson here is not to be an obese slob with a shitty immune system and you don't have to worry about Covid. Unfortunately, that is a large % of American population and growing.

I'm a pureblood who thinks Covid was an overplayed scam and that the health officials that perpetuates that scam, as well as the pharmaceuticals that lied and gained massive amounts of money by participating in the scam, should at the very least be jailed.
That doesn't many 100% of things said about Covid were false.

And in typical fashion, our governments punished the healthy because we have too many unhealthy people.

I'm going to need to see the studies showing the efficacy of this otherwise it's just another way for the doctor to make money.

This is all confusing, but if you read the link in the OP, it seems the researchers agree there CAN BE long term effects from COVID. They just don't believe the long term effects are any different from the long term effects from other viruses.
The article says the TERM "long COVID" should be retired, but recognized there can be long term effects from these types of viruses.
My question us how they categorize the neurological conditions caused by COVID, such as the loss of taste and smell. Those are not normal cold and flu symptoms. But when those symptoms last over a year, it can't be called long COVID?

Long Covid is an unfortunate misnomer for either vaccine injury or lingering issues of people who were either vaccinated or contracted covid. Just because people are tired of hearing about covid, doesn't make it untrue. This board can be so ignorant. I would expect the majority here would have called this article an attempt to bury a situation that continues to unravel and gets more info and documentation every day. If the news tells you its not a thing, it probably IS a thing and a further attempt of gov at disputing the idea that covid vaccination was ever a problem.

It's the opposite of this, doctors, especially neurologists are woefully undereducated or intentionally ignorant and actively do not use EEG to treat anything.

[quote]After five neurofeedback sessions, there came to significant reduction of severity of post-COVID anxiety and depression persisting for at least one month. Effect of neurofeedback on fatigue was insignificant. Severity of anxiety, fatigue and depression as well as reductions in depression and fatigue were positively correlated with each other.
Note, these cases used the Othmer method, which I am not saying is the best method, nonetheless there are people who are successfully treated with neurofeedback via qEEG.

If you spend a few years researching something, you dont have results until a few years has passed.

Wait. So kids who had a virus but had no symptoms will all of a sudden start experiencing long term, debilitating symptoms from that virus that is no longer detectable in their system? You believe that?

Thank you.
It's just a cold virus.
A new variety maybe, but still a cold virus.
We were never going to stop it.
It's wasn't going to kill everyone.
Yep. That’s all it ever was. “Coronavirus” is just a different, maybe slightly worse, version of the common cold. We wrecked our world for this. Crime against humanity.
