Got a picture with JYD when he wrestled at the Baker Municipal Center. One of my favorite pictures from my youth.

Nowhere. They beg for iPhones and then glue themselves watching whatever.

What was it with old ladies and Mid South heels? I remember Ernie Ladd getting into it with an old lady and he's got his long arm stretched out wagging his finger in her face. She was cussing away and taking child like swings at him including taking off her shoe trying to hit him with it. That was as entertaining as anything else.

My grandfather was Reisor Bowden. He did the ringside announcing at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport back in the day. Man he had some stories. He would go out to eat or for drinks with the wrestlers after the events.

My uncle would take me when there was rasslin at the LC Civic Center. One of his Winn Dixie baws would tag along. Those matches were usually on Saturday nights. We’d get fired up when Another One Bites the Dust would come on. Remember seeing JYD body slam Kamala.

Yes. With the nickname "Sugar Bear" it was bound to happen.

My mom worked at a gas station growing up in Krotz Springs we were right in the middle of Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Alexandria. I remember meeting Ted Diabose, Hacksaw, Midnight express, Terry Taylor, and the Samoans. They all road together in Vans going all over Louisiana and surrounding areas. My mom also got JYD, Jake Roberts, and Jim Cournette's autographs. Good ole Mid South Wrassin was the shite back in the day.

What in the world are you even talking about? This thread is about midsouth wrestling and Kamala the Ugandan Giant. Geez Louise.
I loved going to the Centroplex. The ring was set off to one side and the heels had to walk a good way to get to the ring. I forget who it was but the cops lost control and the guy got surrounded by the angry audience on their way back to the locker room. For some reason, I think the match involved Buck Robley and he ran into the crowd to get some revenge while also saving the heel’s life.
Another match I remember Skandar Akbar was managing and he sat in a chair ringside and watched the match. Someone in the expensive seats somehow wrangled their metal chair out of the row, folded it up, and threw it at General Akbar from behind. It was a perfect shot and the folded chair hit him squarely at the base of his neck. It knocked Skandar out of the chair and on his knees. The cops dragged the spectator off.
Lots of great memories.

Nothing like the tag team tandem of Buck Robley &JYD against the freebirds. Scandar Akbar tried putting that camel clutch on Sargeant Slaughter and the chants of USA USA hell to the yeah. We bringing back memories baby
