On the latest The Mismatch podcast, they were discussing playoff teams in a "level of belief scale" style, and he refused to say that the recent play has changed his belief in the Pels, and he basically argues we can't beat anyone in round 1.

Dude is not having a good time with Memphis being dogshit terrible and the Pellies being good finally. Every day is a bad day.

I’m loving the consistency of this team and overall professionalism, but what first round matchups do you feel confident in or that we would be favored in Vegas?

LAC vs Pels - we won’t be favored bro.
Suns vs Pels - we won’t be favored bro.
Den vs Pels - we won’t be favored bro.
Kings vs Pels - you got me here bro.

I read this as "Venmo is still salty about the Pellies" and was really confused.

I can't listen to that podcast. I just can't take his raspy voice.

I also initially read this as Venmo

But yes Chris Vernon is a bitch, I don’t even know why he hates the Pels. I guess it stems from the Ja vs Zion, pick 1 vs pick 2 debate, but I really don’t know.

I don’t listen to every episode, but I’ve caught him being complimentary of the Pels earlier in the season. It’s not unreasonable to have a healthy skepticism of this team’s ability to win a first round playoff series considering we are only projected to be the 5th seed, going against a team with a better record, with players who haven’t done it before.

It probably doesn’t help that Vernon’s eyes were glued to the TV for two of our most spectacular collapses of the season against Memphis within a week’s time.

I've seen a lot of people lately say the same thing. Multiple people on Lowe's podcast recently have said similar things.

That we would be one of the teams everyone wants to face in the first round for various reasons, no star power, no one believes are real.

Just to be fair, our losses have mostly been to good teams and we have beaten a lot of beat up teams and bad teams.

Just have to keep winning, that's it.

There are reasons for concern with this team in the playoffs, but it's not like anyone else in the West (besides Denver) doesn't have a question mark or two of their own

And people being afraid of a team's stars more than ours doesn't actually change anything on the court. Either we play well enough to win or we don't. Up to Z and BI to change the narrative!
