We're using our playoff lineup and we're not hurting for 3pt shooters. He needs real minutes on the court, even against scrubs.

If he is needed at least his legs will be under him.

They need him to get reps and be in game shape in case he is needed for the closing stretch and playoffs. He's just not going to crack the current lineup.

He will be needed next year for sure.

unless they are sending him down there with the expectation that he's focusing on a specific defensive strategy for him, then this is pointless b/c all the G-League is is a pickup game.
Maybe they dont' have practice today so they wanted him to go play a game, since the game is at 11am in Birmingham and we play tomorrwo night at home, so it's just a chance to play a game.
But i still say playing a game in the G-League is pointless unless you're going their to specifically work on something, and Hawkins doens't need to work on his offensive game in that no defense league. He'll score 25+ and hit 5+ 3's with ease.

It happens. Trey was reassigned as "late" as February 28 his rookie year and depth is better now than then.

Gone are the days when we drafted someone round 1 and they were expected to be a productive starter out the gate.

Depth is a good thing.

Makes you wonder what Pels are going to do this offseason with all them future picks. If Gayle commits to the tax - this team could be VERY special.

I think it's likely we are going to defer the Lakers pick to next year.
and they've had all these picks for a few years now, and have only wasted them to get rid of guys instead of using them to upgrade.

I hope next year Jordan Hawkins will fill in the Trey Murphy role when Trey is moved to the starting unit.

This team can reach another level with Jordan coming off the bench with real minutes.

A post I finally agree with Teddy on.

This will be effectively a pick up game for him. I do kinda wanna see him in a two man game with Karlo though haha

Karlo has been killing it in the G League. Im probably way too high on him but i think he can give us 12-15 good minutes each game starting next year.

I’m hoping he can be a Larry replacement and we can throw serious money at whatever quality Big becomes available.

I think people sometimes have a hard time understanding 3 truths about the NBA:

1. The gap between college and pro basketball is wide.

2. It takes more than being able to hit a shot to be a quality productive NBA player.

3. More often than not it doesn't click in the rookie year. Herb Jones is an exception.

What's the big deal? The Pelicans won't play again until tomorrow evening. He's probably going to over there to play tonight and be back on the bench tomorrow. He probably won't play tomorrow regardless.

Jordan Hawkins was at one point in the same tier as Wemby and Chet for PPG.

He literally won a game for us on his own.

His defense in limited minutes has come around a bit and he still has some tangible growth there still needed. However, the movement shooting and sheer gravity he and Trey Murphy would make in a point Zion system is insane and we have already seen a future preview of it in that Utah game.

I think Naji and Jose are tremendous players and will be legitimate help in this post season run. Jordan Hawkins brings something those two won’t ever have.

You're right.
sorry my negativity of DG and Bledsoe/Adams clouds my memory at times.

At least we've drafted well for the most part.

I just always invisioned using a bunch of picks at some point in time to get another allstar level player.

Hawk with 6pt and 1 AST
Karlo with 7pt 2 AST and 1 Rebound

Karlo’s 3 stroke (pause) looks good. I do fear he has a lil Larry in him with getting pushed around. I think a summer in the gym with NBA trainers will do wonders.

We have SEVEN 1st round picks in the next 3 years. Who cant you get?

We have a young talented core and stacked to make trade offers this summer.

Unlike pervious decades, i could see AllStars actually wanting to come here.

Locked for future:
Zion 23
Herb 25
Dyson 20
Hawk 21

Likely to lock long term:
Trey 23
Jose 25

Expiring this year:
Jonas
Naji

On expiring contracts next year:
BI
Larry

CJ expires in 2026. Don't forget he is the president of the Players Union. Whatever $30m value you don't see on the court is very likely gathered ten fold behind the curtain. He is one the most intelligent and respected players in the league.

I promise you, our young team needs him.

I think it could be just to get him some playting time. Would not surprise me if he were back tomorrow.
