Olivia Dunne will take part in LSU's Senior Night ceremonies. Is this her last season?

Like LSU’s other fourth-, fifth- and sixth-year gymnasts, Olivia Dunne plans to take part in Senior Night on Friday when the Tigers have their final home meet of the season against North Carolina.
But Dunne hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning in 2025 for a fifth season, nor has she tried to give it too much thought.
“I haven’t decided,” Dunne said Monday. “I could come back for a fifth year. But I’m just focused on this year.”
A social media star with a number of high-profile endorsement deals, including one with Nautica that recently put up a huge billboard of the New Jersey native in Times Square, Dunne has the highest NIL valuation ($3.5 million) of any female college athlete according to the website On3.com.

Her college eligibility is up, but she is eligible for anything else in my book

it would be pretty pointless for her to come back

Tricky for her. I’m sure she would love to compete for a national championship.
Either way, she’s made it beyond the need for her gymnastics platform.
I bet that Stanford basketball coach is fuming mad.

Another year of NIL opportunities (one of the few true NIL driven opportunities) could be worth millions.
How marketable is she without being an athlete?

I think I have checked several times in LSU gymnastic competitions. I think I have seen her compete a grand total of 1 time. Is that correct? Does basically she almost never compete in anything? I believe it was floor that I saw her have a score in...it was decent but not outstanding.

She's marketable regardless. She's built a brand that does not depend upon her competing in events. Someone is certainly writing a thesis on her branding strategy and execution.

That is the question.
She's not a particularly big contributor to the gymnastics team in terms of the actual competition. I think she only does, what, one event? But it's not like she is "going pro" as a gymnast regardless of when she leaves LSU. So much of her marketability centers around being a hot girl AND college gymnast at a major university. Once she stops being a gymnast she is essentially just a hot girl in a vast sea of hot girls on social media.
If she has some sort of media career in line for when she leaves LSU now may be the time to go. If not, it may be worthwhile to stay one more year and continue to monetize her NIL marketability for one last year.

Is this a real question in 2024?

Livvy is not returning for her COVID year.

I agree that competing isn't needed.
But, being an athlete who "competes" I would assume is a big part of the image that she sells.

Extremely marketable. She is huge on social media. Not being tied to LSU gymnastics will free up her schedule dramatically to do whatever she wants. She will spend the foreseeable future traveling back and forth between modeling appearances and Paul Skene's starts in Pittsburgh.

This part isn’t true. She had a huge following when she was just hitting high school age - as in hundreds of thousands of followers.

She can’t crack the rotation now
If she does it might be somewhere else so she can compete

She is the definition of sex sells. is arguably bottom 10 on the team in talent but the most noticed and recognizable. what a time we live in. congrats to Paul for locking her up
