But but, I thought she didn't fit the system, or could get around the defender, and was too slow on defense. Now yall love her six weeks later.

None of these equal a turnover issue

She is a off guard...

Poole is gone, Poa was out, Mikaylah was limited so she had to play much more out of position than she has in the recent weeks again

It feels like anytime HVL makes a mistake it's far more emphasized around the LSU fans. Even I must admit it feels that way for me when I watch the games, because I want to see her prove the doubters wrong.

I appreciate the fans who have started to take notice of her progress. She has come a long ways defensively. I heard she wasn't known for defense at her prior schools. So I really respect she embraced this challenge to make herself a better overall player.

You're not my favorite poster but I thought you might have had a point here actually. However, I and you did not dig into her Louisville stats. I just did. Basically, she is doing about what she did at Louisville...slightly up in some areas, slightly down in others. So if your or my expectations are wrong, that is on you and me, not her.

She's overweight, basically fat. Look at her compared to SC guards or other top guards. Why doe Mulky not get them more fit?

She can't consistently compete for 4 qtrs against better fit guards.

Most of LSUs team is the same way. Slow, lethargic, and unathletic.

Wrong again. Geez guy, time to quit the AI userid. I'm not sure a normal username would be any better but your posts so far I've seen would best be served residing in a trash can.

I looked at her Louisville stats a long time ago

She was an all American and projected top 10 pick. I don’t care what her stats were last year, with those credentials she should be better than 12 ppg

I give her credit for playing better as the season went on, but she gives the ball up to much to the other team.

Her and a large portion of the team.

I looked at the total minutes played, turnovers, and steals for the season for each player.

I then divided TOs and steals by minutes played then multiplied by 40 minutes to get a number equivalent to the # of TOs and Steals in a 40-minute game.

TO - Turnovers
ST - Steals
MP - Minutes Played
TO40 - Turnovers per 40 minutes
ST40 - Steals per 40 minutes

TO40 = TO/MP X 40min
ST40 = ST/MP X 40min
Net = ST40 - TO40

I also then subtracted turnovers per 40 minutes from steals per 40 minutes to get a net giveaway/takeaway number. A positive Net indicates more steals than turnovers per game.

Don't be surprised if I have a few mistakes. If you spot something, just let me know what they are and I will correct them. Sorted by Net.

the team as a whole - 3.08 TO40, 2.16 ST40, -0.93 Net

Kateri Poole G - 6.27 TO40, 1.57 ST40, -4.71 Net

Angelica Velez G - 6.07 TO40, 1.43 ST40, -4.64 Net

Sa'Myah Smith F - 4.44 TO40, 0.49 ST40, -3.95 Net

Last-Tear Poa G - 4.26 TO40, 2.25 ST40, -2.01 Net

Hailey Van Lith G - 3.31 TO40, 1.61 ST40, -1.7 Net

Angel Reese F - 3.12 TO40, 2.27 ST40, -0.85 Net

Mikaylah Williams G - 3.11 TO40, 1.57 ST40, -1.53 Net

Aalyah Del Rosario C - 2.71 TO40, 1.35 ST40, -1.35 Net

Flau'jae Johnson G - 2.45 TO40, 2.84 ST40, 0.39 Net

Aneesah Morrow G - 2.29 TO40, 3.26 ST40, 0.97 Net

Janae Kent G - 2.21 TO40, 1.11 ST40, -1.11 Net

Amani Bartlett F - 1.96 TO40, 1.96 ST40, 0 Net

Izzy Besselman G - 1.95 TO40, 1.95 ST40, 0 Net

I know it's a big pile of numbers but most of our starters have been sloppy with the ball.

Shoutout to Flau'jae and Aneesah for being the only net-positive starters while also being the two players with the most minutes played this season.

Flau'je, at second with 72 steals, is only 2 steals short of doubling up Van Lith, Williams, and Poa who are tied for 4th @ 37 each.

Aneesah is first on the team with 87 steals on the year.

Angel is third with 51 steals

I liked the way she ran into the fray yesterday, maybe not a smart thing to do, but I give her credit for standing with the big guys.

Yep. I love this time of year when you self-styled analysts who haven’t followed WBB all year or been in a game thread all year seek to enlighten us.

Go frick yourself. You’re a shite poster and your takes are shite.

If ypu don't think VL is carrying more weight than necessary, I can't help you.
SC is absolutely better athletically at the guard forward position

You are not very scientific.

Having HVL play the point alot this year is a god send. What if Poa is still suffering side affects of the concussion or Mikayla is still not 100%. Coach Mulkey wins championships for this reason she is counting on HVL to be able the handle the ball alot more than she did in the past. We got this.

That is the weakest argument you could possibly make. Psst, basketball is a team sport. I have no idea who was the surrounding cast at Louisville but at LSU, Angel Reese is known for scoring points. Johnson definitely takes her share of shots. Morrow does also. A healthy Williams does. So in other words, you think Hailey Van Lift should be a gunner from outside. I will point out that much more important than 2 points more or less PPG is her FG% and FT%. She is spot on with her FT%, worse with her overall FG%, but better with her 3 point FG%.
But I sent the other LSU ladies messages telling them that an LSU forum poster says they should shoot less so that HVL can score what this person wants her to score.

You don't need to help me. HVL is more muscular than most of the players you reference. I am not saying that she is in Charles Barkley mode but according to your logic CB was vastly overweight. Everyone doesn't have the same body type. I will reference a composite pick that shows HVL arms and legs. She won't win a bodybuilding contest but if you don't see the difference between her muscularity and most other WBB players, then "I can't help you." But I can recommend a good optometrist because you flat out have a vision problem.

BTW, I have been lifting weights for decades. Not heavy lifting but not light either. After a few months, I had gained 15 pounds from say 170 to 185. And I wasn't eating more ice cream either. Adding muscle adds pounds!

Oh, so that explains why LSU outrebounded the taller S Carolina team yesterday right. South Carolina is more athletic?
