The teaser for The Social Network with the Creep cover was so good when I saw it in theaters for the first time.

The Last Jedi was the greatest trailer for a movie. Then the movie was released.

Squashed every bit of momentum and hype that the force awakens started. Pretty sad stuff.

I don’t think there’s been as big of a dumpster fire after coming out so strong as TLJ. Star Wars was back. And in the blink of an eye it was destroyed. After all these years, it’s never truly been able to recover and you can trace it back to that moment in time.

Well it will always be Alien.
Both teaser and trailer.
Both teaser and trailer.

Jurassic Park teaser. Didn’t even show dinosaurs but we all couldn’t wait to see it.

Man y'all need to be posting these trailers and not just mentioning them.
Do video games count? Because IMO one of the greatest commercials/trailers ever was for a video game: Gears of World: Mad World trailer.
I was so hyped for that game after that commercial.

The teaser for Strange Days is a generally forgotten one that is really good.
It is Ralph Fiennes in his “futuristic drug dealer” character from the film doing his pitch for “SQUID” clips.
I’m the magic man!
It doesn’t show anything of the film but gives a good feel of the cyberpunk atmosphere it takes place in.

Star Wars Episode 1 teaser trailer. I took a girl to see Meet Joe Black. The theater was packed. I was kind of surprised that there were so many people there for what was basically a chick flick. Then the previews started, and the green Lucasfilm logo appeared on the screen. I had no idea another Star Wars movie was being made. After the teaser ended, the theater erupted in applause. Then 90% of the theater got up and left. People had bought tickets to the movie just to see the trailer. The movie itself was a disappointment, but the excitement surrounding a new Star Wars movie was great to be a part of.
