You can always have a freak athlete whose parents sacrifice everything to accommodate their massively talented child like rory mcilroy, Shaun white, etc.
But the number of those families is tiny, so the odds are stacked against it happening. What if rory was born to a family that wanted to go get fricked up all the time and leave him home rather than working double shifts and sacrificing everything to give him the opportunity to play. Do you think he would've ended up where he is today?
For every rory mcilroy that pans out there are 1,000 more that could've been as good and didn't because things didnt line up
You will read this and think it's white guilt, it's not. I'm a numbers guy, which is why I work in finance. People should not attach emotion to statistics.

What the frick are you blathering on about? What does any of this have to do with black people skiing? You know why most black people don't ski? Because most black folks don't really like the cold. It ain't some generational wealth nonsense, when the hawk is out, black people stay inside.

I have not seen the “no blacks allowed” when they charge me $150 a day for a ski pass. I would assume that it has to do more with some of Nat X’s reasons for so few black hockey players. #4 “it’s cold out there”.

There could be a great Asian snowboarder if they strived to be and their parents supported them in pursuing that passion. It's really not part of their culture.
It's straight numbers of active participants in the sport. If the majority of people that grew up snowboarding were Asian, we would have more Asian professional snowboarders than other races

What? How did you come up with this?
You don't get professional skiers from the group of people that don't do it. You get it from the people that do. Do you think if you took 10,000 white kids and 10,000 black kids and gave them the exact same parents living next in the mountains in Colorado more white kids would turn professional? Less? The same amount?
