Have a cook late April, looking for about 25-30 Rabbits. Anyone know of place that sells whole cleaned rabbits? Willing to drive 100 miles or so from Madisonville area.

Listening....I would just like 2 or 3. Wild preferably!

Can't help you there, but I see frozen rabbits in Hispanic/Asian grocers in the Atlanta area.

Bailey's in Laplace used to sell them. Give 'em a call. If not maybe they can suggest someone.

I had forgotten just how good wild rabbit is. I've had rabbit dumplins and rabbit cooked down in a gravy lately and it is a damn delicacy.

Would be awesome if I can find that quantity in wild. Exactly what we do every year, cook in down in a gravy, they always love it, but have always used meat rabbits.

There is a rabbit processor north of Bogalusa

In Baton Rouge I've seen frozen whole rabbit at Iverstine Farm Butcher and Colandros Grocery. They were both the same brand which I think is "Miss Goldie" but I may have that wrong.
Iverstine is very good about ordering or may give you contact info on their rabbit supplier.

I love rabbit. The rib bones and vertebrae can be a pain

I could eat pan seared flank meat from a rabbit until I get sick. So hard for me not to eat that while I'm browning everything, not for everyone, but I love it.

The last time I looked at processed/frozen rabbit was in Rouses and the price per pound was insane.
It was up there higher than prime beef steak prices per pound.

The last time I got rabbit, it was cut up but I got it at the piggly wiggly in Madisonville. I don't remember seeing a label on it so they may be able to help you with a larger order.

Oh nice, I frequent the Pig, so I'll stop by there this evening.

Highly recommend Sweet Caroline. Gerald will sell you the livers if you ask. Perfect app when you fry them and drizzle a little Steens.

I went on-line to check out some sites that sell processed rabbits and the price is totally insane.
Upwards of $20 a lb. for whole rabbits and even more if just buying the backstraps.
That's going to be one expensive meal by time it's done if needing 25-30 rabbits.
