Music aside, the guy will readily admit that he was a huge selfish POS and in a very dark place in his life, but he pulled himself out and has turned his life around. You can not care for his music but recognize and appreciate his story. He seems to be a pretty grounded and introspective person now.
His testimony before congress on the fentanyl issue is pretty compelling if you haven't listened to it.

The only acceptable concerts for the OT is some band only 8 people have heard of at CBGBs that you saw using your time machine to travel back 30 years ago

Objectively, there's nothing good about his music. It's truly, truly awful. I can't imagine a single music critic has given any of his work a strong score...because it's all fricking awful.
I'm not a Jelly Roll fan per se, but I do know that you don't know the definition of objectively.

Is this where we pretend people don't like Nickelback and Creed? I have no real opinion on Jelly Roll, but can we move on from pretending popular things aren't actually popular?
My wife love Nickelback. We've seen them 3 times or so. I don't know a bunch of their music. I just don't connect to the lyrics. But I'll be damned if they don't put on a fantastic live show. I've never been bored at Nickelback. I have never seen Creed live, so.....

Welders and pipe fitters love the guy

Appreciation of music is subjective. And who gives a flying f what some music critic has to say? If the critics were so smart, why don't they just make the perfect songs and make tons of money like Jelly Roll does?

The people in this thread bagging on this guy have no clue what they’re talking about
Just looking at him and making stereotypes. He’s very talented and his music (if you know his true story) is pretty good

Jelly Roll is a modern-day Paul McCartney with the same type of Yoko Ono inspiration by his side.

Yeah you right! Nickelback is and has been America's Band.

Typically, yes. In Jelly Roll's case, like most the bullshite coming out of Nashville for the last 20 years, he's objectively bad. If you disagree, it's because you are unable to grasp the difference between true talent and a PR-created circus sideshow.

I'm just here for his opening act for this tour. Alexandra Kay, I heard her for the first time somewhere off Broadway back in 2020-2021, cool to see her on tour with a headliner like Jelly Roll (even if his version of country isn't my cup of tea). Sounds like 80-90's country and looks like Miley had she stayed Country.

If music stayed the same it would die.

Gross. This guy blows and is indicative of the fact that country music no loinger exists. Very sad, but it does conincide perfectly with the downfall of the United States.

I would love to see a Venn diagram of the crowd that will attend the Jelly Roll concert, but also says Beyoncé’s song is NoT CoUnTrY MuSic

You think these old farts on here will know who Jelly roll is?

Jelly Roll is what you get when rural/redneck dudes between 30-60 start to feel old, were never seriously into music much to begin with, and think, "ah ha! this is how I will seem cool...by discovering this new cat that mixes country with rap!". Pretty sad, actually.
We can say the same thing for Taylor Swift and middle aged white liberal men

I’ve seen colter wall a couple times as well. That kid don’t sound his age that’s for sure.

You’d have to pay me to suffer through that show. He’s not good.
