State Sen Gerald Boudreaux (D) Lafayette
"until Louisiana makes education a real priority, crime will continue to be a real problem"
So, if we just pour more money into schools, the crime will subside? Wow, I never realized newer computers, desks, fresh paint jobs, and more teachers could have this effect.
Congratulations Sir, by deflecting and blaming Louisiana’s educational system and absolving individuals from personal accountability, you are perpetuating the same cycle you claim needs to be broken.
New York spends the most in the country at roughly 30k per student, how's that working out for them?

Maybe me meant by parents, students and educators. Not just more money?

He’s a Democrat so his ideas for policy are probably horrible.
But this:
Is not wrong.
The education system has always been, is, and will always be the best way to address the societal issues we are facing.

I suppose it's possible, but given his party affiliation and the fact he injected race into the discussion, not likely.

The schools can't do a damned thing with a child if the parent(s) won't help.

Where’s the daddys?
That’s the biggest problem…

The educated ones leave the state. At some point well paying job opportunities have to become part of the equation.

They’ve been replaced with a welfare direct deposit, a Louisiana Purchase card, SCHIP, WIC, a block of government cheese, and an Obama phone.

So the democratic voters need to educate their children in the home.
Bkack people will even tell you this. The ones that got out. It wasn’t cool to be smart.

It’s a democrat dog whistle to the teacher’s union.

There is a lot of, you ain’t going to Harvard or Yale type shite where your parent would fricking laugh at you for even suggesting such a thing. Kids testing gifted and their parents saying frick that and keep them out of it. No discipline at home, won’t behave at school distracting others and making teachers say frick that I’m not dealing with this.
This shite happens. The parents are the problem. Always have and always will be. Fix that, then we can talk about throwing money at something.

A robust economy with good paying jobs is probably one of the best ways to prevent or reduce crime

Wrong. The education system is a symptom, not the cause, of the problem, which is broken families and a lack of accountability.
If we cut off welfare for everyone who was not disabled, and started harshly punishing criminals, all of this would be cleared up like it was before the Great Society. You can double spending on education and it won’t move the needle.

Is another juan williams……a local village idiot / court jester that only speaks when it’s told to do so. That bum is a total waste of taxpayer money in an elected position.
Notice how it’s only the blacks that are coming out against the proposed reforms? That right there should say all that needs to be said with how those people think. They’ll never have any accountability for their own crowd and its actions.
When those people come out adamantly against something then you know it’s a good thing. They’re too stupid to see how stupid they are and always stereotype themselves.

The intact nuclear family will have a far greater impact on a child's success than the school district will.
Until we address that elephant in the room, we're just pissing in the wind.

I know plenty of people who only had a single mom, who have been successful in school and in life.
But the key is, the single mom has to care.
One hard working, caring parent can make up for not having two… but if one parent is missing and other is useless, kid has almost no chance.

We’ll never fix the education system until we adopt policies that encourage marriage and discourage unwed mothers.
None of this shite gets fixed without a father establishing order in a household. None of it.
