I know plenty of people who only had a single mom, who have been successful in school and in life.
It's not impossible, but every statistical study ever done shows that kids growing up in intact nuclear families outperform those from single parent homes by a wide margin.

No correlation exist in the amount of money spent per student and the quality of education.
Until people are allowed to fail without the government bailing them out it won’t end.
If a society refused to allow its people to fail, it guarantees failure. Accountability of decision making is the only thing that can fix it. The old saying, you don’t work, you don’t eat.

Louisiana spends an insane amount of money per public school student for shitty results (that are getting worse).

quote:This here is the honest answer and the reason why we cannot fix the public school system.
The schools can't do a damned thing with a child if the parent(s) won't help.
Ask any teacher what the biggest problem is with low performing students and they’ll tell you this.

I couldn't have said it better:
Senator Boudreaux is just repeating the tired old mantra of blaming poverty and race on crime. Have you seen what black kids (with the help of white liberals) have done to our public schools? They don't want to be educated. They demand free stuff.

Mr Boudreaux,
Congratulations! By deflecting and blaming Louisiana’s educational system and absolving individuals from personal accountability, you are perpetuating the same cycle you claim needs to be broken.

Those savages destroy everything the come into contact with!! Look at cities run by black democrats for exhibits A, B, C, D, E, F, …………..

They don't want to be educated.
They’re bred that way nowadays and the department of education wants exactly that…..the dumbing down of America.

Again, blacks are bred that way nowadays and the White liberals encourage that behavior because they’re too stupid to see they’re being played by those same White liberals.

Education begins in the home and as long as Louisiana continues to subsidize single mothers nothing will change. We need to hold people accountable for their mating habits and not continue to reward terrible choices.

Amd democrats love shutting down chemical plants, refineries, and factories in the name of saving the earth.
Let's kill tons of good jobs with benefits so the CO2 output in a given area is lower. Stupid clowns

There's a way here to have solid, good paying jobs, and also not completely trash the earth.
You can have both.

That's always black Democrats solution. "We need more money." Never mind Louisiana already spends more per student than most other states on public education with horrific outcomes. Let's just throw MORE money at it!! That will work.

Is not wrong.

It's the prioritization of education at home that is the problem. When kids parents don't prioritize it and their communities do not prioritize it, what's the point of throwing more money at it when they don't care about education and it won't matter anyway?

Then let the money follow the student and see what happens.
Right now we pay more per student in taxes than it costs to go to a Catholic school.

It’s not education it’s a lack of parenting.

Building more prisons and sentencing criminals to lengthy sentences will reduce crime.
Everything else is just whistling past the graveyard.
